Hi Marcia! Personally, I would wait and send the doctors letter with everything else to OHIP. They are not going to do anything with your application without it anyway. Good luck and keep us posted! Regards, Mary Lou 278/208

Hi Marcia, It was written on a post here that no one who had sent in pics in their undies with their application had been denied yet. So I sent mine. Not to mention all my co-morbidities of course and I was approved. My family doctor never sent a letter, she told me if anything else was required she would gladly send it out. But it wasn't needed AS long as your ooc is filled properly and she signs it and you should have no probs Good luck to you, Dean.

My doctor didn't send a letter...in fact, of the people I know personally who have had surgery, only one of them had actual letters from their doctors. I don't imagine it could hurt, but I don't know if it is particularly helpful either. Just so long as the doctor signs the application! :) Dawn

I would wait and send it all in together. You are in that BMI range that it could be iffy for approval and I think that the more weapons that you have in your arsenal, the better! Good luck and keep us posted, Stef

I had my doctor send a letter, but I drafted the contents. He reviewed it, had it transferred to his letterhead and signed it. It accompanied my application and I was approved on first submission. I never sent in any photos. I sent a personal letter, a physicians letter, a listing of past weight loss methods undertaken and a listing of Ontario surgeons contacted and their current waiting times. All of this accompanied my application. Good luck and best wishes for much success. Karen G
