Congratulations! I will be at two years on May 22nd. I have lost 100lbs and I also love my new life but I just went to my yearly physical and I gained 6lbs since last April(disappointing)! But I have started to work out again and am trying to watch what I put in my mouth. I need everyones support to help me with this. At my last routine schedule we requested plastic surgery but I was denied(bummer). So I guess I iwll have to try and work extra hard to firm up. I am glad everyone is doing well and keep up the good work.

Hey Lori, I hear what you are saying. As long as I stay busy I do not have the urge to eat... Old habbits die hard... Night time snacks are still the hardest thing for me.. I have moved up and down on the scale the last few months... We just have to remember that tomorrow is another day... Don't give up if we fall off the wagon... but just remember to get back on that wagon! I too do not get sick of the wrong kinds of food. (I wish I did) well, Ice cream is the only thing I can not eat, that does make me sick... which is a good thing!

Hi Jeffrey, Congraduations on a great loss. I will be 2 yrs 5/13. I have not reached my goal. I had 25 more to go and now I am up 8 lbs. I am frustrated now. I have a hard time eating proteins so I am eating soups and salads but I am not satisfied. I want to eat. It is easier for me when I am at work but at home the wrong foods go in my mouth and I do not get sick. That also scare me. I wanted to have plastic surgery but I also want these lbs off. I drink some peotein drinks but the weight won't move like it did before. Any suggestions? Lori

Hey congrats on the success. I am 2 years on 05/16/05, and I am loving every minute of it. My weight has been very unstable and I had to fight to keep the weight on I got down to 160 but felt miserable. I was too light I got up to 165 by adjusting my diet and exericise and was doing great, until I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. They put me on steroids four 10 weeks and as a side effect I gained 25 lbs. This had me scared until they told me it was a side effect of the medication and it would come off as long as I stayed true to the correct diet. Sure enough they started cutting back on the dosage and my weight is starting to come off. So overall it has been a great 2 years. Anyone reading my profile will know it was rough but 8 srugeries and 2 years later. I would do it all again. Good luck and happy loosing. darren

I had my surgery23 months ago. I lost 130 lbs. Now I am stuck. I did gain 8lbs and relost 4. The problem for me is I can't sit down and eat a full meal at one time. I eat some amounts but all day sometimes tooooo much. I do not feel satisfied. I am working so hard to not put something in my mouth. I will try an apple or carrot. Drinking does not hellp I want to chew something crunchy. I tried a vegatation soup which I make mininal cal. I feel full quicky but not satisfied for long. I only have 20 more to lose andI lose that 4 but I am so stuck. What I am bad at is I am not exercising. I know that is wrong. I did lose the weight with not lots of exercise. Sonetimes I feel my stomach is all the way stretch out. And I will gain all my weight. I am afraid of that. I would like some new ideas of different things I can do. Thanks Lori

Topic: RE: QUESTIONS????
I had met my surgeons goal at 1 year. I have not really lost anymore since then. I would like to lose about 17 pounds (then my BMI will be 24.9 which is normal). At one year I was able to eat anything, still less than pre-op but more than I had since I was post-op. Now I can eat about 6 ounces at a time before I feel full. I dump once in a while. Not from small amounts of sugars, but from strange stuff (such as sweetened cereal, but not from a snickers bar). Don't get discouraged. Are you near your goal? How do you feel? Just remember that getting to goal weight is not the primary reason for this surgery. It is not cosmetic. Have your co-morbid conditions resolved? Are you active, healthy and happy? Are you proud of all that you have accomplished? This is the measuring stick to go by-- not the scale. It wasn't our friend pre-op and it isn't always our friend post-op. Good Luck Dawna

Topic: QUESTIONS????
Hey, guys...I am May, 2004...but, I wanted to ask you all some questions. 1. How did you do at one year??? 2. Did you get into a rut, at one year...like not losing for a long time? 3. Had you met your goal by one year? 4. If you did meet your goal...how did you get past the plataue???? 5. Any info on the one year stuff, would be greatly appreciated! I have hit a plataeu...but, I did lose 3 pounds last week. Since the weathe is nicer, I have been walking. So, maybe that helped. I just am really discouraged...cause no matter what I eat...a lot, not a alot, the right stuff, the "not-right" stuff...I stay the same. Jeannie

Topic: New here looking for Help
Hello My name is Jessie, I haven't been here in a really long time, I had a baby back in November and gained 26 pounds with him, now making me 30 pounds from my goal, I am having a really hard time trying to get back on track, should I restart atkins? I have gotten used to carbs again while being pregnant with the baby, and after he was born he had a lot of problems and was in and out of the hospitals so I had lived off of hospital food for weeks, He will now be 5 months old this week and there is no more excuse for me not to start getting back on top of things. I am a over a year post op, I will be 2 years post on May 12th I would love to be close to my goal till then, I feel like such a failure I was 302 at the start then I was down to 165 pre pregnancy and now I am back to 185 My goal is to be 150. If I restart the atkins is it 2 weeks all protein and then 25 grams of carbs? Anything that can help would be greatly welcomed. Jessie
