Topic: RE: Stats anyone??
Hi everyone! I had my surgery on May 2nd with a starting weight of 367, and now, at a little over 5 months post-op, I am 273 lbs (for a 94 lb loss so far). I was hoping it would be 100 lbs by 5 months post-op, but I can't complain. I still have another 130 to 140 lbs to lose, and worry sometimes that I am only losing about 10 lbs a month since my 2nd month post-op. I hope to be at goal by 18 months to 2 years post-op.

Topic: RE: Too slow for me!
Lizzie-Please do not get frustrated by your loss. Keep in mind that when you start off smaller, you will lose slower. You have less to lose than others so of course you will not have as many #s off in the beginning. Think of it as this, you are getting a major head start in the race. We will all make it to the finish line, some before others, but you started off closer than many others too! The 200# mark was really really hard for me. In fact, I kept going back and forth, below 200, over 200, below, over. I was going real crazy. Then I really pushed the protein and water and layed low on the carbs. I do drink a protein suppliment everyday and try to find proteins to snack on. My favorite has been beef jerky, the real tender stuff. I also like cheeses and meats to snack on. Set yourself up for success and pack your house with positive high protein/low carb/low fat foods and when you run out make sure you restock immediately! This helps me stay away from the carbs. Hope this helps! Jeanette Lap RNY 5-9-03 264/192/??145??

Now the kicker is the other day my mom says to me:" You better be careful , yo could have a heart attack" I said momm, i was at a greater risk 5 months ago!!!!!!!!! Hi there,I am 5'8 ,was 347 the day of surgery on MAy 20/03 and as of today weigh 241 and am stil 5'8. So I have lost a total of 106 pounds, and somedays feel like that is slow!!!!!!! However I am grateful for this tool. I am loosing hair at a rapid rate so hopefully that will slow down a bit. I am more than half way so would love to be at goal in MAy '04. My goal weight is around 155.

Topic: RE: Over 60 pounds lost since 5/21/03
Well, I'm EXACTLY 90 pounds lighter today than I was on 5/14/03, my surgery date! It's great that we're all doing so well. I do, however, find myself mentally comparing my losses to others' around the same anniversary date. I have to keep telling myself that some of us had more to lose to begin with and are different heights, etc. and that we all lose at the rate which our body will allow. Keep up the great work everyone!
