At last, finally I'm in a normal weight range - even WITH all the excess skin This is definately beyond what I could have ever expected! Hopefully the only weight I'll lose from here on out is when (and if) I have the excess skin removed!!! Boy, we are all in the same boat. I haven't lost a pound since November of last year. I had my RNY in May'03 and quickly lost almost 100 lbs, but I just stopped @ 45 lbs from goal. Everything you all are saying is my same experience. I stopped exercising, I stopped pushing the water and I can eat most anything except sugar makes me very ill. (Thank Goodness) I haven't gained, but I haven't lost either. Reading everyones experience has motivated me to try harder. When I think of all the months it took to get approval for the surgery and then to go through it, to fall so short of my goal! I read in one of these sites that 20% of us don't meet our goals. I don't want to be in that 20%.

I'm within a couple days of you - as far as surgery dates. I need to drop ten more - have been hanging on to it like this for months! Like you - I'm up and down - probably water retention or whatever. Not sure what your major medical issues are - but perhaps when they are leveled out you will be able to go forward. If you are like me - you like to feel FULL and so the next thing I say will be "easier said than done" but perhaps with your blood sugar situation you need to concentrate on eating several small meals regularly placed in the day. Perhaps a piece of fruit mid day or whatever. Eating (here's the hard part) smaller meals - MORE OFTEN. Can I ask how tall you are? I'm curious - the size 8 thing intrigues me! *smile* I am 5'10" (weighing between 152 and 156) and wearing 10 and 12's (pants) and Medium/Large tops. Where do you find really TALL pants in a smaller size. I feel like I'm prepared for high water most all the time! *LOL* Please don't reply to my email - I forgot my password so can't retrieve it! Der!

Sounds like we're all sitting in the same spot!! I think about my current eating habits and I know that if I modified to more health concious and less taste concious ... I'd be dropping weight. I don't have a sugar problem - and while I don't eat the volumes I used to - I do eat it. YOu can pack in 200-500 calories of candy corn and such over a day REALLY easy. It's not a good thing! I know that if I would replace my treats with something simple like an APPLE - of which I'd have a hard time eating the whole thing and which would STAY WITH ME much longer ... I'd drop my calorie intake and probably start losing again. Are you guys finding the chips, candy, and other bad habits are catching up with you again too?

*LOL* You mean we WILL lose again? That's what plateau means, right? I've been where I'm at for so long that I can't remember ... maybe 8 or 10 months. I'm just almost to my goal - within 10 pounds. Of course it doesn't help that I just keep feeding my face! *smile* Old habits don't die, do they? Hang in there - hope your knees are better soon. You WILL do it -- and so will I!

Hi, In May of this year I was having a great deal of pain and bloating, it would let up after about 6hours and would go away for a few days, then come back. Finally, I gave up and went to the emergency room and found out it was obstruction in the pancreas. They couldn't go down through with the scope to undo it because of the surgery so I had to be opened up. Might have them check it out. Linda Surgery 5-28-2003 Wgt. 223.5 - currently 122

Wilda, I know exactly how you feel. I'm about 50lbs to my goal and I have not moved in weight since August. 2004. I fell and tore my meniscus on both knees, so excerise is limited. I will be having surgery and that's going to slow me down even more. But don't give up. We went this far and we can do it. JuLie Julie
