Topic: Anyone from the MAYDAY Club still around? :-)
Hi There Gastric Brothers and Sisters! I am a 2 year postie looking for the 9 original members of the May Day Club from May of 2002. Back then, I had e-mailed lots of folks having the surgery on my surgery date, or near to it, and several of us kept in touch via e-mails and phone calls during our pre-op and early post op stages. We lost touch after about the 2nd month and went about living our lives. I think of you all from time to time and hope you are all well and getting close to or have reached a healthy weight. It was 2 years ago on May 3rd I had my RNY Gastric Bypass. I know tragedy struck at least one of the original members who passed away about 2 weeks after her surgery, but anyone else out there wanna give me a shout? I'd love to hear from you! Jennifer A, I saw your pic on here once when I was surfing on a friend's computer, but I was not able to respond to your message. Wishing everyone else, especially those about to have surgery the best of luck. I'd be glad to answer any questions you have about pre or post op life. Love and Peace, Kathy A Collins (was Kathy A Watson living in CT when I had the surgery, but have since got divorced and live in MA now with a new name). xox

Congrats on reaching goal. I had surgery 5/30/02 and am about 15 pouds from goal. I did have a bj done last may and am having a lower body lift done later on this month.
Isn't it awesome how this tool has changed your life? Not only am I healthier, but I am more of a socialite and I have become more assertive.
Life is grand. Good luck in your upcoming surgeries.

Topic: My 18 month report
Missed my yearly one so here goes. I had surgery on 5/31/02 and to date have lost 153 lbs, still have 47 to go. Have been at a standstill for the last few months, not a standstill really thinking about it, rather the weight loss has slowed A LOT. Probably have 20# of skin and flab on me but was SO excited yesterday to be able to buy a size SMALL sweater vest...have never worn anything with an "s" on the lable in my memory....I was a 30/32 (tight) when I started this journey, weighed 340 and this morning weighed in at 187. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself, my entire life has been changed, I actually feel like I am living my life rather then letting it pass me by

Topic: RE: update for my yearly anniversary
Angela, Congratulations on the 151 lbs, in one year you've accomplished so much. I feel this surgery saved my life and I can't imagine being my former size, I'm able to do many things that I thought were only dreams and always just out of reach. This has been an amazing year and I pray we both continue with great health and we reach our goal weight soon. Take care and keep us updated on your progress. God Bless. Susy
Topic: update for my yearly anniversary
Hi my name is Angela Jackson, I had my surgery 1 yr ago May 8, 2002. I have lost a total of 151 lbs. and I am at a stand still right now. But I thank God for the loss I have accomplished, I feel so much better . I stil would like to lose about 50 more pounds. I have this huge apron that just hangs and it keeps me from wearing the size of clothes I should be wearing. I hope in November
that I can have the abdomiplasty done. I just want to wish everyone who has had the surgery or is having the surgery the best of luck.I would like to hear from anyone who has had surgery or anyone that has any questions. God Bless everyone and take care.

Hi - everyone - chiming in kinda late for May - I had a lap RNY 5/31/02 and have lost over 150 lbs. I want to lose another 50lbs or so.... so now must begin to pay very close attention to all I have learned. I am going to have a hernia repaired in combo with a 'tummy tuck' - I can't see calling something that big a tummy but...
Hope everyone is doing well.
Pam
9 years later - take a look at the picture I added... how well do you think I'm doing now? :) I am thrilled that I had this surgery.... I got my life back.
everything is new on this site now - and I have no idea how to update my profile... :(
Hope everyone is doing well.
