Surgery Update and Questions
Dear All -
My surgery was April 27th. I can't believe how smooth it was...I'm so thankful for the caring people who surrounded me at Hurley Medical Center. Their Bariatric Team is top notch.
Since the surgery I have been able to consume very little. According to my nutritionist, I should be able to eat about 2oz protein. That is not happening. After about three bites (well chewed) semi-soft diet, I am feeling quite full. Is this normal? I certainly don't want to stretch my sleeve. I am supposed to consume 60-80 grams of protein daily. It takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to get down a protein shake.
Also, I've been without carbonated beverages (Pepsi Max) for over a month now...but the craving for carbonation is still there. I think about it all the time. Any suggestions?
Thank you all for your support. I can't tell you how much comfort I get from these pages.
~Laura
