Hello my OH family,
You all have been so supportive throughout this journey.  Thank you so much to everyone on here.  I don't know how I would have made it without you.
I lost 30 before surgery and 145 since.  My one year anniversary is tomorrow.
I feel and look so much better.  From 397 to 222.  From 34 pants and 5X shirt to 18 (sometimes 16) pants and 2X shirts.  From having diabetes and high blood pressure to NADA.  From not being able to sit in a chair for more then five minutes and having to lay down from such severe back pain to being able to (did this today) bike 35 minutes on my stationary (8 miles), do my bowflex workout (8 exercises).  From hating life to loving it.  My only regret.......I wish I did this sooner.
God Bless All Of You....

Topic: My First RNY Anniversary.......
Today is my 1st RNY anniversary and to celebrate this milestone I rewarded myself with something that made me feel absolutely awesome. This wasn’t the type of reward I would have given myself one year ago; it wasn’t a food reward nor was it a shopping spree at my favorite store…I donated blood to the Red Cross for the first time ever! I am very squeamish about needles but I decided this was an excellent way to celebrate my new life…by possibly helping to save someone else’s life. Also in celebration of my One Year Post-Op, I am posting, for the first time, my dreaded “BEFORE AND AFTER" pictures. I think it is a fitting time to share with my OH friends the amazing transformation I went through in the past year.

My journey has been smooth thus far and I feel very blessed to have had no complications whatsoever in the past year. Today I am more active, more energetic, healthier and happier than I have ever been and my post-op life has taught me a lot, not only about myself but about life itself.

I am conscious that the road ahead will not always be as easy as this past year has been and that frustration and anxiety are sure to rear their ugly heads, but I feel that I will be able to handle it with the great support from my Bariatric team and the wonderful people here on this site.

Thank you all so much for your advice, knowledge, ongoing support and (most importantly) reality check; it’s what keeps me grounded.

No, I don't know about calories in the shake, I don't look at those, but I'm sure if you measure your ingrediants you can just put it in a site like livestrong and figure it out very quickly.

You will have to do a few and see what you like. I do 1/2 cup half and half, 2 scoops choc protein, pour in some Davinci or Torani caramel syrup, blend

add 3 cups coffee (that is by the side of my pot but I do not think its actual 'cup', handful of ice, blend. I like mine better with room temp coffee. I set my coffee pot to go off 3 hours before I need it.

Oh...and Karen,
I understand about the husband and working out thing.  I feel the same way!  I like to work out with my fiance' but I like it when he's doing his own thing and I'm doing mine.  I'm too nervous when he's watching me.

Hi Emily F.
Can you tell exactly how you make your coffee protein shake, again?  How many scoops of protein and syrup and half and half, etc.?
Do you know how many calories it has in it?  That sounds really yummy and I want to try it.

And Mandee...WOW!!! You've lost over 200 pounds and haven't even reached your  1 year, yet! That is awesome and it inspires me to get back in the gym.
I haven't been in about 3 weeks, and with the weather getting warmer here (I'm in SC) I've been getting restless...time to get back in there!
Congratulations!

Topic: RE: How much can you eat now???
I can eat about a cup at a time, maybe a little more.  But I forget to eat a lot of times.  I am doing well though... weight has stalled a bazillion times, but I am doign fine!  I have started training for a 5k!  That is big progress from where I was last year!

After my husband was laid off and we stopped Cobra (since we didn't have the money) I have not gotten my labs done recently =( But I'm VERY aware of taking my meds! I HOPE to get a job soon to get benefits again and will get my blood tested as soon as I can!
