Topic: RE: Energy????
I'm 7 weeks out and have also been incredibly tired. I keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. It's good to know I"m not alone.

Well, I'm not an rnyer, so hope you don't mind me responding. It took me 8 weeks to find a protein. I just got the body fortess at walmart and the SECRET is to sprinkle sf jello pudding on top of the powder in the blender, add ice and blend. I put it in a metal coffee mug and it thickens up. It has about 2 carbs depending on how big your sprinkle is BUT SO WORTH it. I didn't drink a single shake until then. They all made me gag and I tried a lot.

Hey my co-RNYers for April.. Im having so so much trouble trying to get in my protein and liquids for the day!!!! Not liking cottage cheese, shakes are making me sick, except for the the no sugar added Carnation instant breakfast....dont even know if that shake is ok to be drinking, but it tastes better than others for me. tired of yogurt all the time. One thing Ive been eating is Wendys chili almost every day, that I tolerate well, chicken.. not so much, tuna... not so much either, Whats a girl to do???? Help! I will be eight weeks post op tomorrow.

There have been so many wow moments. Little things we didn't dare to think about. :-)
Topic: RE: Energy????
You give me hope. Your surgery was 11 days after mine. I'm hoping my energy drain will be over within a couple days. I'm upping the protein. :-)
Topic: RE: 2 months out
I think it is great to see these posts. I have felt the same way about not losing "as fast as other people" but we need to be realistic about it. Some people are really fast and others are like us are losing "slower."..I'm 7 weeks out and have lost about 24.something...I'm averaging about 2 pounds a week... (if you look at my ticker it says something diff. because it was before liquid diet.)
I think it's good to show others that even though we have this amazing tool, its totally normal to lose at a rate that is not astronomical.

My energy level was awful until mid last week. I am getting between 80-100 g of protein, I think it's' just the after effects of anesthesia and surgery...
I'm starting to come out of the energy drain now...but it was ridiculous how tired for the last 6-7 weeks. I think we just have to be patient and listen to our bodies and give them rest when they really need it to repair from surgery.

Topic: RE: Eating Out??
I just went out of town for a week, so I had to make an eating out choice for every meal.
Breakfast went for eggs and cheese and sometimes oatmeal.
Lunch and Dinner - salads with grilled chicken, turkey burger patty, turkey meat (out of a turkey sandwich), fajitas.
I also carry around with me a tuna salad pack and a protein bar so that I'm never without something to eat in case of emergency.
