If I had a dollar every time someone told me about someone else having the surgery and gaining the weight back I'd be freakin rich.  Don't they know how this makes us feel?  I guess they are just trying to "warn" us but, who the hell wants to hear it after you've made the plunge?  Oh, and the compliments from family are great but you know what weight you want to be at.  Don't let them stop you from completing your journey because of how big they are.
Keep up the great work and way to go!!!!

Good for you.  It is nice to get comments like you did but you are right, after awhile it gets old.  At work now people are noticing the weight loss and most aren't saying anything but once in awhile a brave one will ask.  The other day someone asked what I was doing because I was "fading away" is how she put it.  I told her what I did and that I feel great.  She is a very big woman.  I think she was surprised but I am no longer keeping it to myself if someone asks.  I bought a size 16 pants the other day which I have not seen for many many years.  You keep up the good work.

Topic: RE: first change in taste i have noticed
Nothing tastes good to me anymore; nothing looks good.  However, I crave Skim Milk, constently.  Like the previous post, I eat to survive.  It is such a chore to figure out what to eat for my meals.  The majority of my protein comes from protein milk shakes and just milk.  The only meat I can eat is lean ground beef and very little at that.  I have tried chicken, but it gets stuck everytime and comes back up, no matter how much I chew.

I love, love, love the weightloss.  We leave for Florida in two days.  For once, I'm not dreading the thought of wearing my swim suit.  Hubby even said I was sexy, which I haven't hear for years.  It is so wonderful to like the person I see in the mirror.  I feel like I found ME again.

Guacamole sounds amazing!

I don't enjoy food, in general, anymore. Nothing sounds good, nothing tastes that great. Nothing "hits the spot" anymore. I used to be a total foodie, loved to eat, loved to try new things etc etc.. Now I've lost all interest. I am still throwing up after meals sometimes, maybe once a day at the most, but come on. I chew my heart out and lots of things don't agree with my pouch. I eat for survival, nutrition and RNY success (protein protein protein) but not because I necessarily want to. It's sucky really, but oh well. I'll take it over medical probs and obesity any day. It's just wierd.
I am just starting to sortof feel hungry again...then I eat. ugh

Topic: "WOW you are so skinny now"....
Saw a bunch of people and relatives I hadn't seen since Christmas, at my heaviest and a long time before my surgery (hadn't even officially decided I wanted it at Christmas!)...
My Grandpa's girlfriend (of like 20 yrs) says "Oh my gosh Michelle, you look great. You are so small now, You look so much younger! You looked so old when you were heavy!"....
She's an idiot anyway ...but come on, I'm TWENTY NINE, how old did I look ? 70? I laughed and said , "Bev, I'm only 29." in my head I was thinking "you are a dumbsh*t!" She really is THAT dumb... poor thing. haha

I was enjoying the compliments at first, then it turned into, "Don't lose any more weight now, you look great." "How much more do you want to lose? I think that's enough now."
Thank you convention of physician's who know my medical history like the back of their hand and have a lot of advice for me.... lol I just smiled and said "just a little more" then changed the subject. It's fun having lost 55 lbs and having people compliment me, but it's also annoying. It got old quick. People say such dumb things... Oh and everyone knows someone who's had some kind of bariatric surgery and only lost a little and now eats like a pig again and has gained more weight...blah blah... Wow, your encouraging stories like that make me feel great! COME ON PEOPLE!... I've mentioned before in posts that my family is mostly overweight...obese even.... my immediate family are alllllll overweight with the exception of one half sister, who didn't inherit the fat half... she's a rail.
I weigh 203 lbs... the lowest I have been since I was 14 probably. I don't remember seeing the scale lower, honestly. So it's been a LONG time for sure. It's an amazing feeling. I will NEVER be 258 again... ever...

Topic: RE: i am going to a wedding this weekend
I am also going to our neice's wedding this weekend in Woodridge IL, I have not even thought about the food...all I have been able to think about was what in the world I was going to wear! I finally broke down this weekend and went shopping....I HATE SHOPPING!  I  have been shopping online for about 3 weeks now, but each time  I find something I like I tend to back out of the purchase mainly because I have NO idea what size I wear! Saturday was different, I got offline and in my car and headed to Dress Barn. I have been eyeing a dress from there online for sometime now. When I arrived the sales clerk asked me how she could help...normally I shoo the sales people away, but I explained to her that I had recently lost 60 lbs and I had no idea what size I was or for that matter what might look good on me. Connie (the sales person was wonderful)....together we picked out several styles and a couple of sizes. I was pretty sure that I was a 24 by now and was happy to try a 24 on! I was even happier when that 24 was a couple of sizes too big! When she brought me a size 18 .... I nearly fell out! It fit ... with more than room to breathe! Not only was it a size 18....but it was the dress that I had had my eye on!!

Now to start worrying about the  food....mmmmm (probably going to be sushi...YUCK)

Topic: Guess what I'm not? Funny wow.
NEARSIGHTED. The funniest thing. I knew my glasses and contacts script had changed since my surgery almost three months ago, but I'm no longer nearsighted!!  Very funny and by the way I slid right into that doctors chair without my sides or tummy touching anything. I was looking pretty hot in my size 18 jeans and XL from a REGULAR store shirt. Of course, I got the usual, "Why didn't you just do lapband?"  question and look, but I'll take it for how I feel!

Thought that was a funny wow.
