Hi! I havent been online for a while either.  Its great to see you doing so well.  My surgery date was 4/20/10.  Since then I have lost 57 pounds.  I am really struggling with getting vits, liquid and protein in.  I have nausea with everything!!  Example:  yesterday I ate a 1/2 cup spinach salad and once I was finished.....Nauseated and cramping...it takes 1 hour before I feel better.. Still glad I had surgery but wish I could be more compliant.  I also have not began exercising yet.  I am hoping once my 3 children start school in a few weeks I can concentrate more on myself.

Topic: Feeling hungry lately....
I know I don't chime in alot lately but the past few days I have noticed that I have been hungry alot.  Maybe its because of boredom, maybe the rain, but instead of my normal shake for breakfast, and 2 small meals of mostly protein I have been eating more frequently. That and it is quite apparent that I can now eat 3/4 of a cup of food at this point. Just that small increase in intake scares me.  I am not ready to eat more lol, I have not experienced dumping (gratefully) and I don't intend to experiment with foods that put me at risk. However, overeating was my big problem and being able to eat more just scares me.  While I am making good choices still (for the most part, had about 10 cheez-its with buffalo blue cheese dip the other day). I find myself craving the stuff that caused me to get to this point in the first place.
So today I am stepping back, to a full liquid diet, with high protein and try to refocus myself on being real with myself.  I haven't gained and I made it through my 10 day stall, I just want to take a look at what I am doing and keep moving forward before I start moving backward.  Also need to remember that just because I like something does not mean I have to eat it :)
Some good things I have found....I am happy with eating small amounts of the foods that I like, I don't feel like I am being cheated or that I am missing out (except for the alcohol once in awhile), I am starting to like looking in the mirror :), oh and I have great ankles....never had them before if you know what I mean, exercise is still work and don't really care to stop what I am doing to do it but I am trying, McDonald's no longer exists to me, but taco bell fresco crunchy taco is glorious, and I no longer feel the need to eat through depression because I have not been sad one single day since I had my surgery, life just keeps getting better.
Foods that cause me problems?  Bread, soft tortillas, pork (haven't had steak yet), and anything I don't chew well enough or if I eat too fast.  And I can't seem to tolerate plain water anymore (puzzling).
Well I know this was all very random, but it helps to write it down sometimes and put it out for others to see and make me accountable.
Hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying their summer.  Coming up on my 3 months here in about 10 days and will be taking a picture of the difference then, I like it, but I have not compared the before pic and current reality yet, hopefully the changes will look as much as I feel they are.  My head never needed to catch up, because I never saw myself as fat as I looked in pictures anyway, I was always shocked to see just how unhappy I looked lol, odd isn't it?

These past 3 months have really been a learning experience. Most of the lessons seem to be about what your body could tolerate and what you should not eat. I also learned that by simply walking I give my RNY a boost and loose weight faster. I walk early in the morning before it gets to hot.

It will be 3 months for me on July 12th. I am walking almost everyday for one hour and also using hand weights.

I have gone from a 3X to a size 14 and some size 16's. I have lost 58 pounds but more important is my waist and hips are down over 8 inches. I am barely over 5 feet tall and it seems like every 10 pounds puts me in a new size. I bought some clothes and was shocked to find out a misses size XL was too big and that I was a misses Large. Now the large is getting to big and I will need a medium very soon.

My feet were size 7 1/2 and now I can wear 6 and 6 1/2.

I can eat anything with chicken, can tolerate tuna but have to stay away from beans and beef of any kind. I don't have an appetite and I eat about 2 tablespoons per meal. I have to supplement with high protein condensed shakes. My doctor recommended the 1 or 2 tablespoon rule and I really don't mind the amount. I get stuck if I eat one bite over my limit and it hurts. I accidental drank 3 gulps of water after eating and I thought I was going to die. When I get the stuck sickness or dump I can't stand to wear my clothes. Many times I find myself on the bathroom floor praying for mercy. Believe me I now only take the smallest bite of a new food and see how it goes.

Best of all is my health. There is so much I can do now. Actually I should say I don't think there is anything I can't do.  The many aches and pains have disappeared and I have stamina.

I am not on OH very much. I am so busy enjoying my new body and keeping up with my nutrition, vitamins, water and exercise. My daughters are all grown but we love going to the many thrift stores in the Dayton area.

Nearly 3 mos since my surgery and I feel great.  I am down over 80 pounds and have started running.  None of my old clothing fit, and some of my new clothes are getting loose.  Even bought some Nike workout clothes in a regular store (whoo hoo).  Getting enough protien is still a challange but really feeling great now and loving my new lifestyle.

Hi everyone!  I'm 10 weeks out and doing great!  These last 2 weeks my energy is back and I'm feeling like a normal person again.  I'm down 42lbs...I wi**** would be more by now but I'm happy with 42 so far.  I have started Zumba, walking & riding my bike so I'm starting to get out there and exercise.    I can finally say that I'm glad that I did the surgery.

It is crazy.  I can't believe how fast three months have gone.  That first month seemed really long but once everything settled down month two and three just poof, disappeared.  I feel great.  I am down a total of 57 pounds since surgery and 87 pounds total.  I feel so much better.  I haven't gone under 300 yet, but hope too real soon.  I've dropped two sizes, ready to drop another and it seems everyone is noticing the weight I've lost.  My face has completely changed.  I'm really very happy about my decision to do this.  I feel as if I've gained a new chance to live again.
