It's best to ask your doctor, but my surgeon said diluted apple juice was fine as long as it was 50/50 diluted.  I don't tolerate it because even 50/50 is too sweet and makes me sick.  They gave me the diluted apple juice the day after surgery in the hospital.  Rachel, check out my other post about Sobe Lifewaters.  Seriously I have no idea what I would do without them!  (No, I don't sell them, own stock, or profit in any way from their sale...I just love them)

Topic: RE: Pre-Op Liquid Diet...omg I'm STARVING
I only had a 2 day liquid diet and bowel prep at the same time. Isopure kept me from feeling hungry and the metamucil made me so nauseated that I did not want to eat.

I can't tolerate most artificial sweeteners either.  Truvia is the only one that doesn't bother my stomach.  I am a huge huge huge fan of Sobe LifeWater!!!   It's got no sugar, no carbs, no calories, no added sweeteners, and it doesn't taste like rot.  I love the stuff.  I'm now 4 days post op, and Sobe's are about the only thing I've been having.  I can do sugar free popsicles, but only once in awhile, so Sobe's have been a lifesaver.  I love the black and blueberry, strawberry dragonfruit, mango, and lemonade flavored.  Pre-op you have to watch the colored ones because you shouldn't have anything red or purple.  I would avoid the pomegranate, or yumberry as they taste like perfume smells...but overall I've had great experience with Sobes.  They also make ones infused with Vitamin B.  Best of luck to you.  You are not alone!!

Topic: Anyone experience out of breath and dizziness???
I am 1 week out of suregery and feeling overall pretty good the only problem I am having is the fact that I get extremely lightheaded and out of breath just walking from one room to the other.

I am not sure if this is because I have not been able to get all my liquids in or if it may be something worse/??

I have lvm with Dr's office and anxiously waiting a return call???

congrats!!!  I overpacked too, but there was no running home for me! lol. I had two nights of panic attacks where I thought I had eaten something I wasn't suppose to and woke up thinking I had to call my patient coordinator and tell her what I did. Wait until your post op days and you'll be dreaming of food, food, food! lol.   You'll do great, just follow the doctor's orders tot he T. :)

Well you know I'm starving then!  I paid $142 for my 2 week supply... but that is only 4 shakes and one soup a day!  I can have all the SF Popsicles and crystal light I want...

I am starving too... but I can't have anything else... The headaches are going away... finally... but I did get a tip to blend the shakes with ice... and maybe some SF international house coffee... I am going to try that...

So glad you can eat more!  Good luck with your surgery!

Topic: Pre-Op this morning, surgery tomorrow
Going to see my surgeon this morning.  I have about 10 questions for him and then I will see how the 2 week pre-op diet went.  I hope it went good, but we'll see.  I have my bags for the hospital packed already.  Probably taking way too much, but I don't want to forget something and have to have my Mom or husband come get it for me.  Luckily we only live about 20 minutes away from the hospital.  When I sleep at night now I seem to be having a lot of nightmares.  Did anyone else have this happen? I think it's just anxiety getting the best of me.  Congratulations to all who are already on the other side, I know there are a lot of people scheduled today.  And good luck to all of you who are preparing for surgery this month.  :-)  Will post again, hopefully tomorrow after surgery if I am feeling up to it.
