Add me to the surgery tomorrow list as well!!! A whole new "Birthday" for all of us.  I love reasons to celebrate.  I am scared to death too.  It's really kicking in now.  I am going to try my hardest to sleep tonight.  My surgery isn't until 10:30 am tomorrow, so I have to get up at 8:00 to take my Emend.  I will say my prayers tonight for all of us on tomorrows list.  We will do great and be on the way to health and "onederland" soon.  :-)

Topic: RE: Anyone experience out of breath and dizziness???
Doc had me go into the ER to rule out Pulmonary Emboli since I have a history of them...

Yeah we ruled them out! I was extremely dehydrated because I was not getting enough fluids in so they filled me up with several bags of fluids so i was floating out of there :) and They think it might be the elevation where I live causing the shortness of breath. I live at 8500 ft up in the mountains and the hospital is at like 5500 ft so I felt fine there. So they have given me oxygen for night time but said if I feel extremely out of breath during the day to go ahead and use it!

I have learned my lesson!!! I will be drinking alot more than I was before!!!!

Oh, yeah I am also trying to drink more protein!!!

I've been on liquids for 7 days and I feel your pain.  Sugar free popcycles have been my saving grace, as well as homemade chicken broth.  Crystal Lite always tastes sweet and is very satisfying to me also.

I'm also doing protein drinks, so that helps too.

Take care and the best of luck on your surgery !

Wow.  Impressed.  Do you havea high pain tolerance?  I am 6 days out from an RNY and wondering why I still hurt enough to need pain med. but if I don't it becomes hard to walk and take deep breaths.  I hope it stays this way for you.  Glad your experience  is good.  REcover soon.

Sorry your so hungry.  WE all sympathize with you.  Something that is in our own best interest as hard as it is.  Keep yourself busy.  I went to work the day before my surgery..figuring the day would pass faster. Add in some sugarfree popsicles or Sobe 0..try and fool yourself..(I know, but give it a try)  And best of luck.  Take a long bath if you can, won't be able to do that for a while.
