tell me why I keep reading your post about pre op liquids and laughing....lol maybe cuz i will be right there with ya in 6 days!! Ooo myyyy ...I was doing the calculations too, almost 7 weeks no solid food...and 4 of them being alllllllllllllllllllllll liquids. The thought of it is a bit overwhelming.

It is normal to be nervous...this is huge! Life altering even..a whole new way of life ....this is what i keep telling myself lol.

I had my RNY ON MONDAY and type this from the hospital bed. It is not nearly as bad as i thought it would be. I wish her well and get home soon.

Glad she is doing well. I was fortunate my surgeon was able to remove the adhesions from inside..I worried about the open. Good she is up and walking. All the best from me....Kathy

I went to visit Wonderling this afternoon. She had her RNY surgery yesterday at 8:00 A.M. Her doctor had to switch from Lap to Open due to adhesions. She is feeling fine. A little sore as to be expected. Is getting up and doing her laps and sipping her water and de-caf tea. Ordered some jello for this afternoon. She will be heading home tomorrow.
We must let go of what was if we are going to embrace what is !

I've tried to come up with a couple of positive things about this 15 day pre-op liquid diet. Perhaps I'm just getting rummy in day 8, but there are some good aspects.
1. I save 4-5 minutes a day by not having to floss my teeth
2. My grocery bill has been cut in half... well maybe not if you consider all the protein and supplements I've purchased recently
3. There are fewer dishes to wash
4. Figuring out what to have for lunch or dinner is a no brainer
5. I get to be a little *****y, then can blame it on no food
Just random thoughts.. or ravings of a mad woman, not sure which...
