Glad both of you are doing great. Morphine kept me awake..don't know if that is unusual or not, but I watched the clock in my room all night long. Probably should have asked for something to sleep, but I was comfortable, so it was ok. Same pain as you both, left side rib cage area. Still bothers me there, but much better 1 week out. Glad to hear from both of you. Take care. Don't forget the pillow on the ride home, specially if you have a ways to go.

My doc said I could do as much walking as I could handle but wait 4-6 weeks for the elliptical or running, at least 6 weeks for weights.

Focus on the fact that if you don't shrink your liver, your surgeon may cancel your surgery or hurt your liver when he moves it out of the way. It was the fear that kept me straight. Hugs.

I started yesterday the Optifast pre-op diet. I though it was going to be easier. I develop a close relation with the bathroom... .unbelievable. I am hungry and drinking water all day is not helping ANY ADVICE HELP!!!!

If I can get through this, anyone can!!! I almost talked myself out of it about 100 times. My Mom and Grandma weren't really behind me with it and they kept saying that I was killing them because they were so nervous about it. Yesterday when I woke up though I knew I was making the right decision for me, my health and my future. I talked a lot to God and he had my insurance cover this and I knew then that I was given this tool as a gift. My prayers have been answered. This was my first surgery and first stay in the hospital ever, so I was very scared. I only have a small bit of pain from the gas, other than that I am doing great. Only you can make this decision, but for me there was no other choice.

I'm sending happy thoughts and prayers your way! It is overwhelming....I had everything from butterflies to out and out trepidation during the days before. I can't believe I'm a week out today but it does go fast. It's almost a let down in a way that after all that waiting and anticipation, it's over and you're on the other side. I still pinch myself that it's really over!

I was having the same concerns about dates and social outtings. I think that is why I am so concerned about scarring. I am getting the band on April 21st.
