Topic: surgery in 5 days and i feel unprepared!
i have 5 days until my open rny. i am excited, but terrified. i feel unprepared. is that normal? i mean, i know what i am supposed to do after surgery, but it's hard to really grasp what life will be like after. or what it will really be like to only drink my food. i'm scared! help!

Hi everyone. My surgery is the 19th as well. I am so anxious good and bad, excited, and so ready to get on wiht it!
Good luck to you. Liquid diet has been rough the last 2 days but i think that is to be expected and my Dr is very strict about it to so i will keep at it but i really cannot wait to have something more savoryI cannot take any more yogurt or pudding jello, BLAH! I know this is all worth the end result! See you on the losers bench

Congrats to the both of you! I was banded on Monday and today has been the best day so far. Remember to have some Gas-X strips or something similar on hand....the gas can get BAD after a day or so!

Day one for me today on the pre-op diet. I did have some saltines with my strained cream of soup. Thanks for helping us look at the brighter side of this. Good Luck to all!!

Congratulations!! I too was banded yesterday. I went in at 730 and was home by noon. I think that if I didn't have a small hiatal hernia repair (completely unexpected) then I would be doing great. I have tenderness and pressure too, but more so my diaphragm hurts when I cough and deep breathe. Overall, it is not bad at all. It is still hard to belive that the surgery that I have been waiting for is over. Now the hard work begins.
