I think itchy is good, that's a sign that they are starting to heal already. So glad you're home and up and around !

Topic: RE: surgery in 5 days and i feel unprepared!
I am also just a few days away from surgery. Scared is an understatement. I mean I have read and informed myself, prepared, and been on liquids for 11 days and I am so ready for food even if it is bland eggs or blended soups. I have to stay 2 nights so I will have my laptop for sure. But mental preparation? I think you just have to wing it...I know what I want, why I want it, and what I have gone through just to get to this point, but now that it is close?? I am freaking out about pain...whether or not I will be better in time to go back to work when I want to, will I change my tastes enough to hate the proteins I have on hand at home, complications... you name it I think about it. But I wouldn't change my mind for anything So good luck to us See you all on the other side !!
Topic: RE: Dad telling everyone he meets :(
Thanks, I know he feels bad. He doesn't have a whole lot good going on in his life so I'm not too hard on him. My hubby is going trail riding tomorrow so I'm taking the kids over to my parents' to help me out a little. I'll smooth it over then. Thanks guys, I am a lucky girl to have such a supportive dad! :)
Topic: RE: 3 days to go
My surgery is the 19th as well. I have to bee at the hospital at 6am and we live about 1 hour from the hospital so we will leave out at 5 am.
My liquid diet has SUCKED!!!! Everyone told me after 3 days it gets better. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! I could eat the hose down but I know I cannot cheat at all. As far as being sick of jello pudding....wish I could have some. Protein shakes 3x a day, thin soup/broth, jello and SF Popsicles. That's it. OH and vitamins, 4x a day. I look forward to those because I get to chew it! LOL. Hope everyone does great on their upcoming events and look forward to seeing "less" of everyone!

Well, I did pee a lot while there. It didn't really FEEL like I had anything to pee out, but I ended up filling half the pee hat!
I right now, my incisions are itchy. I'm trying my best not to pick at them, scratch them....but it's very hard to do! I wish I could put some gauze or bandaids over them, but dr/nurses said no =(

I've never had that experience, but don't take lovenox either. What did your doctor say?

Good for you !! Sounds like you are doing very well.
Once again, I am noticing how different my doctor is from many others. I'm having my surgery next week and now I am on clear liquids and protein.
2 weeks from now I will be on exactly the same thing, with an additional 3 weeks after that.
My instructions are: Week 1 post op - clear liquids only
Weeks 2, 3, 4, - clear liquids, can include protein
Weeks 5, 6 - pureed
Weeks 7, 8 - introduce foods that my pouch can tolerate
So by my calculations, I can start with a few things like you did in early June.
Best of luck.. 19 pounds in two weeks, that is awesome !

Glad that you are home and all went well, with the exception of the nausea. I hate to throw up, so I'm sure I'll end up same as you.. with nausea. Sorry it lasted so long.
I'm shocked that you actually lost weight? All the postings I read is as much as 10 pounds gained after the surgery due to saline being pumped into you.
Take care and get some rest. Keep us posted. Thrilled that you are over the hump.
