I have not yet had my surgery, however I spoke to a nurse the other night from the hospital and she warned me about the gas bubbles escaping to my shoulder and neck.  She said they will cause the worse stiff neck and shoulder pain ever.  She also said they should go away in about 48 hours.

Hope you feel better very soon !

Wow, filet mignon!!  I would love to have that flavor in my mouth.  Did you have to add any liquid to make it "puree"?  I don't have a magic bullet but I do have a blender and a food processor and both produce a kind of grainy result with meat.  Is the bullet that much better?

Glad to hear you are OK, but sorry your procedure was more complicated than you had expected.  Just rest for now.

My first full day home from the hospital it felt like the phone rang alot which interrupted my naps. And my dad kindly brought dinner so my husband wouldn't have to fend for himself again. I was sooo tired that night!! I slept for like 11 hours, awakening only to reposition myself. So, if you can be proactive and tell people that you will call them, I recommend it!

I am home as of yesterday, had my surgery on Thursday and all went well.  The Dr was very pleased with how textbook it was.  I am happy there were no complications.  So I get home yesterday and I know I am going to be tired for a few days due to the meds and all that, but I have read the pain radiating up the the shoulder is usually gas, but wow it is the part that hurts the worst on me.  It almost feels like I pulled a muscle in it. Has anyone had any experience with that?

I did pull out the tubes of pain meds they had in my chest wall today, that believe it not got rid of my side pain.  I am up walking some, drinking protein and such.  Maybe by Monday most will have worn off and I can start moving more and feel less like a zombie.

I had surgery on the 13th and am reminding myself to take it very easy. I want to do this healing stuff right so I don't have problems down the road! Sip, deep breath, walk, rest. My new mantra! I hope the worst is past for you.

I can't speak for you but I did not want any company in the hospital. I was in another state and did not even talk on the phone with anyone for 4 days.  It just seemed to take way too much energy.  Good luck.
