Topic: RE: TIGHTNESS IN STOMACH!!!
I believe it is just everything starting to heal up for you. It felt like my intestines were going to come out of my stomach when I had it done. I had a small pillow I put in front of my stomach. I tell you that little pillow was my life saver! Who ever invented that idea was a genius!!!!! So you might want to try that also, who knows it might help? Good luck!
Topic: TIGHTNESS IN STOMACH!!!
SO my RNY was this last Tues...just short of a week out! Wow! Today I am noticing some tightness in my stomach, upper abdomen mostly. Feels like someone is wringing out my insides... I don't think it's gas, I'm pretty sure I got allllll of that out finally (hahaha) but dang, this is not very comfortable! I am sitting back in the recliner, hoping that helps. So far, nope...
Topic: RE: Anyone else having issues.
I start puree on WEDNESDAY... I am so tired of broth and liquids. Grossing me out at this point. I never thought I'd be looking this forward to puree! I basically already have the meals in my head ready to go! I miss the shakes too, I add those in with the puree wednesday also.
I am not starving, I dont even think I'm hungry. I think it's mental. But I have figured out how to tell when my pouch wants me to fill it up- I get tha****ery empty feeling. A little broth and it goes away. I can only eat 1/2 cup max at a time of broth and I'm full.
As for shakes. I prefer Jay Robb's Egg White Protein in Chocolate and Designer Chocolate. I think those 2 have the best flavor and I've tried TONS of different ones... I mean a lot! I prefer chocolate to vanilla or strawberry. I feel like I'm having a shake. And I like to throw in a little banana and ice in the magic bullet. yum. Go to vitalady.com and order samples! It's fantastic!

Topic: RE: 8 days until surgery! I'm slightly freaking out!
Welcome - I too am having RNY on April 26th. It is amazing how quickly the time has gone by. I am not suppose to eat anything (if I can) on the pre-op diet. Have to confess, it has been a little difficult. If I need to I can have a scrambled egg, a piece of dry toast, some saltines. Have had some saltines a couple of times. Good Luck to you (and me) and everyone that is having their surgeries in the next week.

Welcome to the boards.. you will find alot of very energetic, wonderful folks here. I've found that any question I ask gets answered with very frank direct answers - I love it !
I'm having surgery on the 20th also and I'm not very nervous. I have lots to finish up at work tomorrow, so my brain is mostly on that. I don't have any kids at home any longer, so I don't have to worry about daily lifting, etc. I have a darling 2 year old grandson who can climb up on a chair, then I'll pick him up. He's used to that.. his mama is pregnant and can't pick him up either.
At least you get some food on your diet - I've had nothing since April 6th, but I'm not complaining. I am looking forward to getting the rest of my life started !
Take care and keep in touch!

Topic: RE: Has it been 6 days since surgery
I, too had surgery on 4/12/10 (lap-band). I had my gall bladder removed first and since it went "well" the surgeon applied my band. The recovery has been challenging to say the least. I'm tired, bloated, gassy and have had chronic diarrhea for the last 3 weeks, due to lactose intolerance (the Nut put me on Carnation Instant Bkfast 5x daily. I am so grateful that you reached out to me because of our same surgery date. Good luck on your recovery, I look forward to hearing from you.
