Just get gasx and stuff for ride home. How long after surgery are u traveling? I would think after the gas is done. I had to stay for 10 days was on mushies. I was too scared to eat anything but a few bites of yogurt. Good luck and keep us updated!!

Wow!  That gave me goose bumps.  How sweet.  I can't wait until the day I have that same experience of not having to go to a plus-sized store.

I know the fear of embarrassment.  I was fortunate not to have much gas at all.  Pain killers usually tend to prevent you from having regular bowel movements, so, you may experience little to no gas at first.  Ask if there's something you can take just for the trip home, like gas-x.  Maybe that would help.  And, it's good to get up and stretch yourself out once in a while, so, make some trips to the ladies room I suggest.  Hope that helps.

hehe I had A LOT of gas and when it finally started coming out I didnt care who was around... BUT I can say this, mine was unscented. hahaha sounds strange, but it was ALL AIR... I think you will be ok. But I feel bad for you, I hope you can get comfortable. Good luck!!

Topic: PITY PARTY

I am just short of a week out. Yay... unfortunately,I am having a HORRIBLE night. I cannot get comfortable. I am in pain. I am icky feeling in the tummy (not nauseous) and and and ... lots more.
The things that really stink right now are the pain, I am intolerant of sugar substitutes(this was before surgery, I did a test run and also after of course) so I cannot have sf jello or popsicles or crystal light... I can have sobe lifewater and vitamin water zero (the natural lemonade is the bomb!!) but I am limited to broth (only 2 more days, WED is puree day 1!! yay!)

Anyhow I just wish I could comfortably fall asleep tonight! I think I overdid it today which didn't help and I had like 4 sugar free popsicles that upset my pouchie... Poor pouchie, Poor Michelle. We walked around the mall today (I needed to get the heck out of the house! ) and then made a couple other stops. The couple other stops I think made it too big of a first trip out.
I also found myself really being annoyed at people eating in the mall...Cinnabon, Nestle Tollhouse Cookies, Sees Candy, Coldstone Creamery, Hot Dog on a Stick...etc... I was irritated that they could eat and I'm on broth... I'm sure that's normal but man, I was jealous of any food I  saw someone eat.
OK I feel better now.... hopefully I can fall asleep soon. I am in the recliner because the bed was just not comfy tonight... Thank goodness we have these awesome oversized cushy recliners... ahhhhh little bit of comfort setting in!

Topic: RE: Day After Tomorrow!
Good luck to you!! I felt the same way, I remember thinking "gosh i have to wait a whole month, wish they couldve done it sooner" and then in a blink of an eye the day was here!!! I was not even nervous the morning of surgery, I was pumped and ready to go and smiling being wheeled into the OR. THAT is unusual for me. I am a BIG chicken and a BIG baby and very low pain tolerance and I have been much stronger and tougher than I thought I would or could be. YOu will be ok, trust me. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and my husband has been amazing and so has my mother in law. Especially since I cant lift him etc (he's pretty self sufficient at his age anyway, sounds wierd, but hes very independent! haha)
GOOD LUCK and soon you will be on the losers bench with us!! Congrats on making this life changing decision. You will love it. It will be tough at first, but soooo worth it!!
