Topic: One Week Post Op
Well today and I am one week post op and finally feeling better. It was a really long week as I had a lots pain and nausea most of it. I was able to go to the Gym this morning walked on the elliptical for 30 mins. It really felt so good to move again. Just need to get through another week or so of liquids. The good news is I am getting all my protein and liquids in now, so I feel really good about that. I even lost 5 lbs since being home. Woo Hoo

My doc sends us home from the hospital on a soft diet. There are so many foods in this category. But I decided I wanted only full liquids for a few weeks. Most the decision came from the fact that I am too tired to cook.

I like to read posts like yours! I have been sipping decaf green tea. Because it is hot it is a comfort. I am 10 days out and my progress was slow but I have really felt more like my old self in the last two days. I had an Open RNY but only after the Lap RNY failed. They say the open hurts more but I think the lap incision is worse.
It is so pretty and sunny outside. Spring was a terrific time to haave WLS.

Do you have a big arch in your back? I do and it flattens out my back even with my butt and I get the same pain. I usually don't have any problem because I am a side sleeper but that is impossible for now (although I am getting close).

I am 16 days out and was told I could have egg whites or egg beaters about a week ago. the list said, lowfat-low carb yogurt, refried beans, egg whites or egg beaters, sugar free-fatfree pudding if i put protein in it and cottage cheese.

Like the message above, you are doing awesome!!! I would put the scale in your attic for a while and only weigh yourself a couple weeks. You just had surgery and everyone gains weight from the swelling and the fluids.... If I weighed myself often I would get upset....It will come off don't worry!! just drink a ton of fluids!! Good Luck!!
