OMG! Poor thing! Like recovering from one surgery wasn't enough! Heal well and fast and get lots of rest and TLC...
Wish my surgeon would've just taken mine, but nope, he doesnt "believe" in taking them out until or if there's a problem... oh come on!

of course I wish he just did some lipo and a boob job while he was in there too lol

Topic: RE: Did I Have Surgery? Tell That to My Digestion System
I felt much better once I got to mushies...for me that was Day 7/wk 2. Now I am feeling more satisfied and not mourning the loss of food as much (lol). I went to hang out with my girlfriends last night at one of their houses and brought my own dinner since I knew they were going to have pizza. (ugh pizza!). They offered to not have pizza and eat beforehand but I told them I didn't want them to adjust for me and appreciated the offer. Man, my mouth was practically watering when they were eating and I had my tiny chicken and applesauce. But I did it. It was hard, dont get me wrong, and I really just wanted to shove a slice into my mouth and savor it...but I am committed like the rest of you.
I keep watching the Food Network and in my mind tayloring recipes to something I can eat with my RNY. There are options out there... of course like some of you said, none of it looks or sounds as good as a big juicy greasy mayo slapped on it cheeseburger! My husband is 2 yrs out (RNY) and he gets a protein hamburger from Carls Jr and In and Out Burger (I have in the past also) and they will lettuce wrap it. So you CAN have it eventually... Stay strong guys... I am trying to as well!!

Topic: RE: Weight Stall after a few weeks "WHY Answer"
Thanks Wonderling!  Great info.
I am trying VERY HARD to make sure I get all my water/meals/protein/shakes in every day...but so far it's been too much food! I am almost hitting the required water amount, but dang, I am constantly sipping, anywhere and everywhere. I think once my body heals more and I get everything in that I need to I will lose more. Right now it's stuck at 1/2 lb a day since Tuesday...waahhh.. I know it takes time, it's not magic! THanks

I heard someone else on the main board say they've had ear problems since surgery. Maybe you can do a search of it. I think it basically said everything is shifting bc of the weightloss. But I haven't experienced anything like that.

Thank you Stephanie!

I feel great otherwise but my ear is bothering me this morning :(

On my way to the medicine cabinet to take a motrin!

I didn't have that problem but remember your body is in a state of shock, little caloric intake, immune system is probably a little decreased, and you probably picked up a little viral infection, you have lymph nodes behind your ears, thats probably what it is.  Try some motrin and see if that helps.

Topic: Family Dinners
I'm a pretty structured mom, kind of have to be with my schedule. I insisted on no tv during dinner time, everyone sits together, talks, etc. etc. I even insisted on it with my 2 weeks pre op diet, I just made it through. Since I've been back home and on mushies, I find I can't eat with my family or even with friends at lunch. I start eating and not chewing and swallowing too fast. I found I cook, serve, then go sit in a recliner with my laptop and take a bite, play on the computer, take a bite, etc. Otherwise I get really uncomfortable in my tummy.

I hope I'll be able to join my family again soon. It seems like people on my ds board who are further out don't have this problem so maybe it will just take time.

Anybody else miss eating with friends and family?

Hi Suzy-

I've been out of town and was wondering how your surgery went.  Glad to hear everything went well.  So sorry to hear about your kitty....that is so sad and what terrible timing.  I have a ten year old cat that I just love to pieces and know how hard that must have been for you.  Anyway glad to hear you are doing so well.

Laura
