I'm going for a gastic sleeve on April 29th. Yikes that's in 5 days. Looking forward to a week from today!

I hope to do the same once I'm on food again.  I'm still on 4 weeks of liquids, can add protein back in next week.  But we have talked about family dinners, without the tv on !!  New concept, but I swear we're going to do it.

Topic: Checking in - day 5 and doing well
I must admit that my attention span has gone down to about 1/2 hour for any one subject... I'm attributing that to the pain meds, which I did stop taking !!  But other than that, I'm doing very very well.

I came home a little more than 25 hours after the RNY, hernia and gallbladder removal with 9 lovely incisions in my abdomen.  They are pulling just a bit, not hurting, just tender and a little sore.

I am of course, covered with bruises since IV's and shots and I do not agree, never had, never will.

Other than that, I can actually contribute to the world again, well with 2 naps per day that is...

I have the 8 pounds off that I gained while in the hospital and hoping to see a new all time low on the scale tomorrow or early in the week.

My 2 oz of broth filled me up today, felt like I'd eaten Thanksgiving dinner.  Not sure why that shocked me so much.. that's normal, right?

Glad all our April surgeries have gone well so far.  Best of luck to all that are left.  Absolutely NO buyers remorse here !!

Please let it happen to me, too!!!!!!  So tired of feeling hot and humid....I got in the car yesterday and it said 85degrees....and all I coult think about is how much I hated having babies in the late spring and early summer time...the Texas heat so zapped my energy and made bouncing back so hard....I hope I do not experience the same heat fatigue after WLS.

Topic: Remember it gets better
We are all going through various aches, pains and learning. I am almost 2 weeks post-op and I am doing great in some areas and not so great in others. It will all balance out soon.

We need to remember to trust the surgery and ourselves. There is no reason to have doubts now. If you lost 32 pounds the first weeks and then only 5 the following remember that is a great success. If I only lost 10 pounds in a month that is 5 more than I could do without WLS.

We are all so used to fad diets that maybe we are forgetting WLS is not a fad and will be with us for the rest of our lives. Embrace it, use it and learn to love it.

This new tool is also a new friend.

We are winners!

We have a pretty good thing going here. It is so nice to have exchanges with each other. This is what a support forum is supposed to be like.

Someone make up a cheer for us!

We do the family meal thing as well.  I am fortunate, however, that my husband prepares most of the family meals.  Now that I am on pureed food, I still eat something other than what everyone else is eating.  I find that I can complete my one quarter cup of pureed tuna salad in the same amount of time it takes everyone else to complete a full meal.  I am feeling hopeful that as we move along here we will eventually be eating food that is like everyone else, just smaller portions.

That is such a great idea! Especially for people like me who have not a lot of imagination when it comes to recipes. 3 pudding cups sounds great to me also.....and at a reasonable cost per cup. Thanks! loads for the ideas.  Zella
