Topic: Incisional hernia repair.
Sorry that I have not been online much. I felt stress/pressure that everyone was losing but I wasn't because of my infected incision. That took a little over two months to heal. I'm half way to my goad so I'm happy. Last thursday, I went back into surgery to repair a hernia created from my infected incision. My surgeon was great, he actually removed quiet a bit of skin along with the 4inch round reddish scar from the infection. It looked like I had eaten a small soccer ball when I stood up it bulged out so much.
So I feel like I am starting over with the healing and eating process. I was hoping that if anyone had any ideas on how to help my recovery. My physical therapist is looking for specific exercises I can do. So far I have been told no weights, no water aerobics, no bands if it caused even the slightest bit of strain on my stomach. Right now even walking hurts but it helps too.
I hope everyone is doing good. I am going to try to be better about posting. Thanks, Christine

Topic: RE: OMG!!!! MY HAIR!!!!!
My surgeon said it is a lack of B vitamins and Zinc for hair loss. He says to take more than Biotin and the B12. If I remember correctly, the bad smell comes from the B vitamins.

You look beautiful Keep up the great work ! Slow and steady wins the race, remember that when things get slow.
Topic: RE: So, how many cals, fat and carbs are you taking in daily...for those that are losing steady.
I don't really keep track of anything besides protein, however I do tend to stick to simple foods that are very low carb. As long as I stick to my portion sizes and lean meats/veggies I steadily lose about 2-2.5 lbs a week. Currently at 219.

So, any of you that know me may know I've been struggling for about a month with wondering about my cals, fat, carbs, why the scale kept going up and down, if I was done losing, what I was doing wrong, etc.
As of today (didn't weigh yesterday) I lost 6 pounds and have past my halfway marker to goal!!!!! I feel so excited and blessed today. I can't put into words what a feeling it is to have my "lost" number bigger then my "pounds to go" number. 121 lost total (30 pre opt) and 111 to go to goal.
This journey is not easy. Yes, it's frustrating, sometimes discouraging, depressing, etc. but on days like today it's enlightening, encouraging and is inspiring me to keep going, press on and continue until I see this through.
Thank you God, first and foremost, second to my partner who has been there for me through all kinds of trials and tribulations and all my OH friends especially Tammy, CC and Channel who have really helped to lift me up in times of stress.
Love you guys!!!! Thank you so much for everything!!! This story isn't over yet....

Topic: RE: NAUSEA @ 4 months out
WELL it was my gallbladder!!! I suspected as much. Had that sucker removed on Thursday after going through the ER Wednesday evening with a HORRIBLE attack.
I hope this is the end of my nausea....we shall soon find out.
