Topic: SIX Months and Counting...

It’s hard to believe that six months have passed since I became a part of the WLS family. So much has happened since April and I couldn’t be happier about where I am in life right now. We all wish, at times, that our lives were better, that something could come along to make us smile a little wider and sometimes even help us be a little more enthusiastic about living…today that’s not me! I’m not sure about tomorrow, but today I can honestly say that I AM HAPPY!

Like everyone else, I have struggled with some aspects of this journey and (like everyone else) I am learning (as I go) what works and doesn’t work for me. I have embraced my new lifestyle with open arms and I love it! I now have many plans for the future, some which might not materialize, but having those plans and working towards them will be worth every ounce of effort I put into them because I now have confidence to do so; something I lacked six months ago. It truly is amazing how good our life can be when we feel good about ourselves and today I know, without a doubt, that the decision to have WLS was the best decision I ever made and I am so grateful that I have the perfect tool to help me stay on track.

Today I am six months post-op, having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime!

Here’s to all of us...the best looser in the world!!!

Topic: SIX MONTHS GONE!!! Can you believe it!?
Hello peeps! I just can't believe that 6 months has flew by so quickly! It has been such a journey for me already, and we are just getting started!! On my 6 months surgiversary I learned that I have made my goal of losing 100 pounds by this time. If you read my posts you know that was my BIGGEST goal! I am very happy with my surgery, and the fact that I DO NOT dump!!!! Thats my fav part! I can eat some dessert every blue moon without worry of getting sick.

How is everybody else doing?? Are you ladies still as in love with your surgery as I am??

Its totally normal. You are not done losing. Its just a stall. Stay off the scale for a while.

Its the 6th month post op and was just wondering how everyone is doing?  Things have slowed down, but still going and life is starting to become what I always wanted.  I am losing at a steady but slow rate of about 2 lbs a week, I don't exercise very often because I just don't want to I guess, I blame it on not enough time, but I have time to watch tv and sit on the computer lol, so gotta be honest I guess.  I still haven't tried to find out if I dump, and glad for that, the longer I go without tempting fate, the farther the temptation gets from my mind.  So hope all are doing well and that your life is everything you hoped it would be post op :)

I have experienced stalls the longest about 3 weeks, but my weight loss is slow now at about 2 lbs a week. Which I don't mind as long as it doesn't stop. And I know that it won't as long as I do my part...which is not eating as many calories as I use. It is still the key to losing. The surgery helps, sure, but it all boils down to what you eat. It was great at first because you couldn't eat much. But like me, I am sure you can eat much more than you could before, and now you have to start eating good, (if you already are then the stall will end soon). Which is where the teaching yourself new habits and lifestyle change that you should have been working on since surgery comes in. It isn't easy, I go to a counselor and to weigh****chers, one helps me understand my motivations and hang ups the other teaches me about good food and moderation and healthy choices. If weight loss was easy none of us would need this forum or the surgery. So please don't get discouraged, it is JUST A STALL, as long as you want to lose weight and work at it, you will keep losing.

Well I am almost 6 months out, and I have been at a stall for the past 2 weeks...do you think I am done loosing? Is this as small as I was ever meant to be?

I have lost 105lbs, which I am so happy about, but I still have 112lbs. to go to get to my goal - I am worried that I am done loosing, the Doc said that around 6 months things will start to slow down, I did not expect it to be this early, and I am so depressed that I might be done.

I have not done anything differantly these 2 weeks, eating the same, still working out - what could it be?

Have you experienced stalls - how long? What did you do to snap out of it?
