4 mos out...STILL VOMITING DAILY! HELP!

I hope someone can offer some help. I am nearly 4 mos post RNY... I am STILL throwing up everyday, not every meal, but at least once a day. SOmetimes more often... Doesn't necessarily matter what I eat, however ALL MEATS don't agree well with my pouch. I have a checkup on Monday (my 3 month, stupid insurance made the appt get canceled and rescheduled so I am behindnow) and I fully intend on talking with the PA about it. I am convinced that they need to go in and widen the opening from my pouch into my intestine. I have heard about this complication before (stricture?) and I have been having a lot of vomiting from day 1. My weight loss has been very successful naturally (down 75) but I am also frustrated. I don't regret a thing but I am just wondering what the heck is going on? I thought this would all stop, and it hasn't!!!

I am so sorry you are going through this.  I agree with you, it could be a stricture or it could just be that you cannot tolerate meat.  Some of us can't, you know.  I can but I've read so many others who said they can't.  Are you taking B-1?  I've read a lot of good things about the connection between B-1 and nausea/vomiting.  Also, you could try some natural papaya enzymes from your local health food store.  You chew them after each meal to help digestion.
Hope things look up for you.
Take care!

I haven't been on in a while.  I am so sorry you are still having this issue.  I have been very fortunate to be able to handle everything and yet its a curse.  It opens doors I don't want to have.
I wish you better days ahead.  I am stuck at 198lbs.  My thyroid is now underactive and my blood pressure runs very low (90/60).  My PCP is working with me on these issues.  I check in every now and then to see what people have posted, and remember you having your surgery right after me, so it prompted a responce.  I will say a little prayer tonight that you feel better soon and have your issues resolved. Have a happy life.  Kathy

I am having the exact same problem. They have me taking 40 mg of Nexium and Reglan but it is not helping. I'm behind for my 3month ck up too they cant get me in until 12 Aug. The papaya enzymes do help some. I never had reflux problems before so this is real hard for me to deal with also. Vomiting everyday is not my idea of fun. I hope you get answers and relief.

I hope you feel better soon.  A month ago I contracted a stomach bug that put me in the hospital.  Docs all thought it was surgery related, but it ended up being just a bug.  BUT, my WLS surgeon ordered an endoscopy which did find a very small stricture.  It was a 10 min procedure; I was out the whole time; no pain; simple.  Now I can eat meat if I chew it up real good.  Before the procedure, I would get food stuck all the time; I threw up several times a week.  I was amazed how this simple procedure changed my life.  Oh, and the flu just ran its course.

SO, have your doc check it out.  God Bless and good luck with everything.

Well I went in to my surgeon who sent me for a EGD, they found I have a complete stricture. He opened me to 2mm and I go back on the 24th for another opening. The  procedure itself was easy the hard part is being back on clear liquids all the time. I know eventually it will all be just fine.
