That is over 5 lbs a week? What were you expecting? I would say anything over 2 lbs a week is super fast. How much did you expect to lose in 8 weeks?

I had my surgery a week before you and am only down 40lbs now.. average healthy losing is only 2-3lbs a week. 41lbs in 8 weeks is greeeat! congrats! Chin up! :) celebrate your 41lbs and more to come! :)

I'm also a slow looser although I have to admit you are loosing faster then I am. You may want to consider measuring yourself once a week. This helps me see some results even though the weight scale is being stuburn ;-).

I sometimes feel the same when I see how much others have lost in the same timeframe.  I'm 8 weeks out and have lost 39 lbs.  But then I think to myself...when was the last time I lost 39 lbs and that helps me stop beating up on myself.  We'll get there together!!!

i quit looking at & posting tickers, its great to see sucsess, but it  can also be discouraging. i also got rid of the scale. i only weigh in when i go see my dietician every month. so when i do go..its bigger numbers..lol. my body fluctuates so much i don't like the ups and downs. so its better if i just do it once and a while and see the ups, and not so much the downs. and i look at the big picture now..i did 40lbs in 2 months, which if i keep at the same rate means 80lbs in 4 months! heck yes!! (hopefully) any loss is better then a gain! even if i managed to lose 2lbs a week, thats still 50-ish pounds in 6 months, 100lbs a year.. i can live with that. before i was gaining weight by the year and not a healthy amount.

Sorry but you are NOT the slowest loser  I am 9weeks out and have not hit 30lbs yet. I record all my food and am good about protein 50-60gms and calories 700-800 as per my Dr.  I work out 5times a week doing elliptical for an hour and weights and resistance twice a week.
At least I am not gaining and I am off some BP med and now off Cholestrol med also.  I try not to fixate on the scale but look at all the health benefits.  You are doing great keep it up. I am impressed.

Let us celebrate our 8 weeks post op and whatever amt we have lost - WE HAVE LOST!!!!  I have read and heard to make sure you measure yourself along this journey.  I bet you are losing inches big time.  I also have lost 41 lbs at this point.  So you are not alone as you are finding out.  Good Job and congrats to all of us for losing.
