Body and Mind Not In Sync; How About Yours???
Okay so I have clothes from size 4X to size 12 so you can see I could not get rid of clothes I wore in 1997. But you would think I could get rid of clothes that were too big. Guess what? By the time I got the larger clothes out of my closet I had skipped over 2 sizes and then another size after. I wearing 4X then went to 2X and then to a Misses size large. I bought some misses XL and looked like a flying squirrel when I raised my arms with loose fabric. I took clothes back that I actually thought looked small. I think every 10 pounds is a size for me. I am 5 foot tall and at 128 I was completely round.
What is amazing is breast size is relative. When I was huge I had huge boobs. Even though they are a lot smaller they look big in comparison with my body.
I only measured two areas on my body; my waist and butt. I lost 8 inches in my butt and close to it in my waist. Don't trust your scale. Size matters.
I finally got all the big sizes out of my closet and drawers but I went through all the boxes and grabbed some of the clothes back. I can't believe how hard it was to part with the clothes. My underwear was sagging in the back to my knees. I was wearing size 13 when I actually fit into a 9.
When I was larger I wore clothes big. I think a lot of think we can hide under extra fabric.
One thought really encouraged me. I shop at thrift stores and it seemed like I could never find any nice plus size clothing (why is that?). I now realize when I donate my clothing someone will appreciate finding nice clothing and that made all of the difference. Crazy I could do it for someone else but not for me.....
Has anyone felt the same or is having a problem really knowing you are smaller?

It is weird. I went shopping at a regular Old Navy today and looked for XXL, brought them to the fitting room and they were too big, hung down about 4 inches from my feet. I couldn't believe it because I was a XXL before and thought I would have gone down one. So I'm wearing a REGULAR XL. That is crazy, I haven't bought regular clothes in a very very long time.
I think it will take time and I think it will take a lot more time to change our minds than just our butt sizes! lol

The inches are coming off me a lot faster than the pounds. I went from a size 30 and a 4x to a 22 and XXL in women's. I was so excited to fit into WOMEN'S XXL. It takes away the feminine feeling to have to buy from the mens section for t-shirts. I am down from 345 highest to 284 today, so I am really happy with that. I love seeing how my April girls are doing. Proud of us all!!! And to answer the question...YES, I have a horrible time seeing that I am smaller. I still see myself the same as before surgery and want to grab the biggest size in the store. I was a DDD too and now I can wear a C cup and I have TOTALLY lost my ass. :-( My 2 favorite things on me and they are gone...now if the tummy would just shrink! LOL.
I was just sharing with some friends that EVERY time I go to step into my underwear I look at them and think...geesh these are small...they CAN"T fit me...!!!! LOL.. I am down from size tight 20 to a 10.. I ran out of clothes this month.. my son's gramma gave me many clothes after my surgery that were 12s/16s...So shopping I went to buy my first NEW pair of jeans not from the thrift store at Ol Navy.. I went into the dressing room with size 12 and 14 knowing Old Navy runs small..the 12 was TOO BIG.. I almost did a dance in the waiting room....the attendant shared my moment!! I proudly walked to the cashier with a size 10 and still can't believe it.. I suggest the Dreamer style to someone looking for good fit. I have always had a big behind before and now its gone about! LOL.. Those jeans fit amazing as I have thicker thighs too. I thought getting under 200 was amazing.!!!!
