Just wondering...

For all the April 2010 people out there, how has your weight loss been up to this point? I had my surgery April 12 and my surgery weight was 330. Currently I have been fluctuating between 298 and 301 for this entire week. Losing 30 to 33 pounds in a little over 6 weeks is beyond amazing, but I was just curious if this was typical or if I should be losing more.

This entire week I have had just slight fluctuations, but no real weight lost... I am hoping that some of that is because I joined a gym May 15th and have been working out just about every night since. I try to do cardio every night and muscle toning 2 to 4 days a week. I know that the weight lifting is going to add muscle weight, so I am trying to stay posative and chalk it up that. Is there anyone else out there who started working out and may have hit the same situation?

I take my measurements once a month on my surgery day. I have been doing my best not to cheat and do it before the 12th. I really want to see the numbers go down and I am afraid to look now and be disappointed. When I regained a couple of pounds, I freaked!  I did measure my waist and from May 12 to May 24th, I have lost 2 inches in my waist alone. Thanks for the info.

I think you are doing great. I also think it is wonderful you are using the gym. I have gotten on the treadmill some but I can't seem to make it across town to the gym. I am hoping that will change when school is out. You and I are close to the same pace. I actuall started my ticker 2 weeks before my surgery when I started my liquid diet. I lost 16 lbs before the surgery. Keep up the great work.

Thanks! I started my ticker when I started so it represents my high weight... makes me feel even better and seeing that "98 pounds to go" makes me feel great... a lot better than 150!
Sounds like you're doing fantastic too! Very happy for you!

I haven't taken my measurements in a while, but I have lost a total of 56lbs. I am a heavy weight also so it seems to come off of us faster! My pant size went from a 24 to an 18....I am happy about that! I just need to do a little better with my eating. I have found that nothing I eat gives me problems (knock on wood)...so I need to be careful! Good luck!

DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS!!! It will drive you crazy!! I've quit putting my ticker on there bc of that reason. No good can come from it.

Okay, I was 339 when I started the pre-op diet, day of surgery was 299. After surgery, I went back to 330ish. Fluid gain happens quick for me. The lowest weight I've seen on the scale is 279. Surgery was 4/5, about 7 weeks out?  I really haven't paid attention to my weight loss. It fluctuates 2-5lb daily. I have lost inches though!
