Trying to get back on track

Hi everyone - Update on my daughters condition -  We just got her home from the hospital yesterday, her placenta ripped big time last week and we almost lost her. She is 27 weeks pregnant right now, the doctors have her on full bedrest and are hoping to get her to 34 weeks before they do a C-section.  Her OB told me that 30 weeks would be a miracle, but I'm still praying for 34 weeks, so the baby has time to fully develop his little lungs.  They did give her steroids for his lungs last week and she will have another round of steroids next week.  So for now, she is stable, at home on her back and twiddling her thumbs.

Me?  This was my last week off work after my surgery.  I spent it obviously running after my 2 year old grandson, going from play date to play date, storytime, park, etc etc, cleaning, cooking (not too hard to do) and I just actually got back to MY house for the first time in a week.

I had to hire a full time nanny to stay with my daughter and watch my grandson, so I can go back to work on Monday - I think I'm in the wrong business.. these nannies make a bundle !!

I've got to get back on track now - did the best I could with my vitamins and protein this week.  I set a goal to get at least 60 g of protein a day, actually made it to 90 g a few days, but not the majority. Water intake was only about 40-50 oz a day, but other than that, I did ok.

Amazing how easy it is to forget that I had surgery and should be resting and losing weight.  Haven't touched a scale in almost 2 weeks and just not worried about it - will weigh in at the doctors office on 5/17 and see where I am then.

My body is telling me to get some rest.  Will sleep in my own bed tonight and will be grateful for it.  A week on a couch at my age isn't pleasant !!

Hope everyone is doing well - have missed the board and I thank everyone for their support !

Oh my, that's a lot to handle. I can't imagine how worried you are about your little grandbaby and daughter. I'm thankful you were feeling well enough to handle all that. Try your best to take care of yourself, you are no good to anyone sick. I was also on bedrest for 10 weeks with my twins, its a dangerous thing to leave a pregnant woman a lone with her thoughts worrying about a little baby, or two.

Sending prayers and good thoughts your way!!! Keep us updated.

My hat goes off to you that you were able to be there for your daughter like that so soon after your surgery.  I have felt so tired and sluggish since I've had mine and I know just how busy the grandbabies can keep you! My daughter is 21weeks pregnant with twins and baby b is already starting to drop and they're concerned she will go into labor. I guess as mothers/grandmothers we find the strength we need when we have to even if we don't have it. I will keep all of you in my prayers! Tammy
