Passing the time?

So what are you guys planning on doing to pass the time on recoup duty? I started to buy a bunch of magazines today but I didn't. I heard that its hard to concentrate after the knock out drugs, so magazines were recommended over books. Also, thought of updating my ipod with good songs. Bringing my laptop with me to the hospital. Thought about learning to cross stitch but haven't decided. ? Any more ideas. Emily

I will be busy doing homework!  Doesn't sound like alot of fun but it has to be done. LOL

I haven't thought about it to be honest.  Since I am having the RNY I figured most of my time will be spent, sip-sip walk sip-sip walk...haha!

I must say that I haven't thought about that either, but I think I will be too anxious to get better that I might not have much time to do anything else besides sleep and (like MzDiane said) sip-sip, walk, sip-sip, walk-walk...LOL  That is if everything goes according to plan, of course!

It looks like many of us have not thought through the recovery period except for the consensus of sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, wal****ep thinking of how many days are left until WLS and I have tons of notes on each calendar page but nothing after. I might be under the delusion that you have the surgery and the time between that and the time you are thin is in limbo.

I think all of us we feel better for summer. Diana

I plan on taking it easy.  I'm going to make a cocoon in my bed, rent movies and watch bad TV.  I'm probably going to get tired of the cocoon in about 30 seconds because it will make it that much harder to get up every half hour or so to walk walk walk.  I do want to catch up on some screen time since hubs will be home and keeping the kiddos occupied.

So, the real plan is to watch some TV/movies, walk a bit, sip a lot, walk some more, sip a lot, walk just a bit more and get more liquids in.  Oh, and maybe a book or something.

You have the right idea! I am taking notes and I think I will do the same.

A friend of mine had surgery on Tuesday. I went to visit her in ICU day 1 and she was o****il after her 1st walk (she got nauseated sp). Day 2 she was too busy having post surgery test done and not feeling well, so there was no time for her to even respond to my text. Day 3 (her checkout day) I went to visit her and she was in great spirits, ready to go home. There's a tv in the room ICU & Step down room; which by the way we have to share with 3 other patients. My friend didn't bring any laptops or magazines/books.

So needless to say, I'm going to let nature take its course. No laptops or mags/books. As long as I have a tv (if I remember what was on), I'm ok.

You are really getting close now to WLS. I am going to take a bunch of junk to the hospital. I bought a little girls suitcase all blue with tons of colorful butterflies.
