April 20th

My surgery date is April 20th.  I am excited & nervous all at the same time.  Nurse called me on a Tuesday morning (3/9) and I had my date by Thursday (3/11).  Once all the required tests and info was received by my insurance company it only took them 3 days to approve the surgery.  Good Luck to everyone.

I got my surgery date also - same.. April 20th.  It somehow helps to know that someone else will be going through the exact same thing !

We should keep in touch.  Not that far away anymore either.  Started getting things to have in the house when I get back from surgery and trying out different protein powders/flavors as well.  Good Luck & God bless.

Oh for sure... let's keep in touch. What kinds of things are you bringing into the house?  I haven't started planning yet.  I've tried a few protein powders when I bought all my vitamins, but haven't purchased anything yet.  I've read so many blogs about not liking the taste of some things after surgery, that I am gunshy to pay $50 for a ton of protein powder that I might hate afterwards.

I'll add you as a friend, I think you have to confirm before I am accepted though, kind of like facebook.  I don't want to go on facebook with this yet.
I have started to pick up a few things for when I get home.  My nutritionalist suggested things like sugar free jello, sugar free carnation instant breakfast.  I went out to the Chike website and got some free samples of different flavors (free?  I don't know about that, I had to pay $7 shipping but at least I can try different flavors).  I have a smaple of Unjury and went to Walmart today and picked up some EAS protein powder to try.  I also bought a jar of turkey babyfood meat & some babyfood carrots.  Instant mashed potatoes, fat free gravy, canned peaches (which I figure I can puree) and stuff like that.  Considering how much we will be able to eat at one time I thought each of those should last me until I can get to the grocery store again.

Good Luck and keep me posted on how it is going for you.

Now 248 lbs - - - not sure what I am hoping to be once all is said and done.

Thanks for the list, it sounds like some good stuff and I may duplicate some of it.  I have the VitaLady right here near me, so I've gotten all my supplements and done some protein sampling already, but havne't purchased any as yet.

I went out with hubbie and my grandson last night and had dinner at Burger King and to be honest, the hamburger made me sick to my stomach.  I've done without fat and crap for 5 months now and it was horrible.  I felt like a rock had hit my stomach and I slept terrible.  I woke up vowing never to do that again.  I told my husband this morning that was the last Whopper I was ever going to eat in my life !!

That will be the beginning of our new life.  Nice to know that we are a band of sisters on the same journey and not alone in our venture.   :)
