I'm a little nervous, but I have a better idea of what to expect now with hubby having already gone through it.

We're trying to book our accomodations today and I'm not having much luck with prices, etc. Called the Hampton Inn in Utica (where we stayed when hubby had surgery) and they no longer have a Cdn.Gov't rate, so it would cost us $124US per night. A little steep for us... was getting it for $80US per night with the Cdn.Gov't rate... buggers. Now I got to find somewhere else to stay.

I'm not nervous, but I'm still 2 months away. I'm sure I will get a little bit closer to the date!

Now if only I could get some more weight off! I had a total of 30lbs to lose before March 22nd and I'm only down 7

Karen M - have you tried the different websites like hotels.com and others similar for low hotel rates?

Hi Blue_Ratti,

Actually got some good news - hubby called the hotel again and spoke with the manager (we got to know him when we stayed there when hubby had his surgery) and he said that they still have the Cdn. Gov't rate but that all the rooms reserved for it were probably sold out that week and the booking agent wasn't able to access it. Soooo... he overrode the system and is giving it to us for $80/night (and that's actually $80CDN/night!). So, that is all settled now!

What have you tried to help you lose weight? I've been drinking a protein drink/meal replacement shake for breakfast, a sensible lunch and dinner and no snacking and I've lost 10 lbs in the past month.

That's awesome about the manager hookin' you guys up!!! =) What's the conversion rate for US and CNDN $? I thought CNDN is more?

Weightloss - well, I've been drinking protein shakes 2-3 times a day. I've also been eating like a liquid/semi-soft diet. Cottage cheese, yogurt, broth and soups...that type of thing. I also have been trying to exercise, but it's been pretty rainy here! (our winter, LOL).

I've cut out a lot of stuff that I normally eat. Haven't had soda for quite some time now. Used to drink Dr Pepper like 4 a day, then went to diet, cut even more, a couple months ago I was at 1 every night at dinner, then 3-4 a week.....now NONE! =P

I think part of it too is that I recently stopped nursing my daughter. Went for 2½ years!! She still tried occasionally, but I have to tell her "Remember, peanut, no more baby milk!" She gets upset but over it fairly quickly. It's been about 3 weeks now.

I haven't been snacking....unless it's on carrots or green beans =P I DO still need to increase my water. I'm totally not a sipper! I'm a gulper!! I can drink 3 cups of water or crystal light in like a half hour!

I'm really trying here! I just don't see how realistic it is for me to lose that much without SOMETHING else to help! I mean, if I could lose 30lbs in a month, why would I want to get surgery? lol. We shall see =P
