I understand what you mean when you say it seems so far away.  I know that it will go fast and I too have plenty of classes, support groups and doctor appointments that our date will be here before we know it.  Stay in touch it would be nice to have someone from the same day to share with.  Good Luck to you too!

Mine is scheduled for April 20th as well.  Seems so far off, but I know time will pass quickly with all the appointments and classes they are keeping me busy with.  Good luck!

OK...when I re-read what I had written it sounded a little snobby....so I deleted it.....TAKE TWO

That would work out IF....I lived in Ontario, and guess what I am one of the 5 people in Canada that does not....LOL

Therefore OHIP does not apply for me.

My provincial health care will only pay for out of province surgeries held in a recognized hospital.  Not a private clinic or hospital.  So they won't cover mine.  Therefore arises the age ole debate in Canada of the two-tier medical system.

I could wait the 5- 7 years that it takes to go through the regular health care route,.....but I am not waiting that long.  Yes that said YEARS.

So.....I am packing my sun tan lotion and heading to Mexico.

Good question to ask tho.....*S*S*

Hi Jane

Being a fellow Canadian I am just wondering why you chose to go out of country to Mexico to have this done?? you are aware that it is paid for out of Country by our own health care system?? (OHIP)  Congrats on your surgery date! Best of luck to you.
