April 13
RNY
I am new to this site, but I just wanted to say good luck to everyone who has made this life changing decision. I start my liquid only diet this Friday 4-3-09 for 10 days. My surgery is in 12 days and counting. I am just now starting to get a little nervous but also very excited to get the weight loss ball rolling.

Day 9 for me. Jus****ched the family polish off two pizzas - sure smelled great. I had some soup broth that I drained the chunks off (pasta/meat). I can have 4-5 slimfasts a day, soup - creamed or broth - no solids, sf hot chocolate, sf apple cider, sf popsicles, yogurt - no chunks/seeds, crystal light, sf pudding. The goal is to stay around 1100 to 1200 calories. Seems like I am drinking something constantly so I also seem to stay fairly satisfied.

Good luck and speed recovery - mine is next Tuesday. Sounds like you must know what you are doing with some in your family having already had the surgery. I assume they did well and are maintaining?

I love the optifast, I was not to crazy about atkins I did find it a little chalky!
Topic: RE: Liquid Diet Day 5
My doctor puts his patients on a milk diet before surgery. So, I get 24 to 32 ounces of skim milk, 3 times per day, for 2 weeks. No solid food at all. I am lactose intolerant from my DS in 2002 so I am drinking light soy milk and lactose free milk.
I am having a revision from the DS to a gastrectomy and a bunch of other repairs on April 14.....it's a very long story!
I'm on day 2 of the milk diet and it's going OK, but I sure do miss food!

Topic: RE: uh oh! i lost my packet! CRAP!
Does your surgeon have a website? Sometimes they'll have the packets downloadable on the site. If not, just call your doctor and ask that they send you an e-mail with a copy of the packet as an attachment.
