The Contraceptive Pill

some one please advice me! can i still continue to take the pill before and after my gastric bypass surgery ??

I asked my nurse this question and she told me that they don't suggest contraceptive pills after surgery..  she suggested IUD, the patch, or the shots (forget what they're called).   HOWEVER, I would ask your surgeon to see what he/she says..  I've found that different surgeons think differently about different things, so yours may think it's ok?   On a side note, I have had the Marena IUD for 5 years (due to get it replaced soon) and I haven't had a period or cramps in 5 years.. it's been HEAVEN!!   :)  I've heard it reacts differently to everyone, but if you have to go in the way of an IUD, it's something to think about!
