I have my surgery on the 14th.  I go from excited to petrified.  I just hope they give me something to calm me down the morning of the surgery.  I'm afraid if I'm at the hospital too long before they knock me out, I might chicken out!

Man, this is weird-  my surgery is also on the 16th, but I am really calm.  Last night I had to sit down with a friend (who is my designated plug puller if something awful happens)  to discuss what if.  All I kept thinking is that it is crazy that I am wasting so much time on something that is not going to occur.

My real concern is what if I forget to take something to the hospital that I will need.

Currently I am missing food and this liquid diet is for the birds.

Good luck to all of us.  Mine is the 16th also.  Being nervous is a normal thing, I mean we are going to make a change that will effect us for the rest of our lives.  Just keep looking at the before and after pictures, and reading the blogs about how most people feel after the surgery.  Remember in a short time people will be looking at your before and after pictures and saying "WOW, look what they did".

Keep focused on your goal and hang in there.  One day at a time!!!

Mine is the 14th and I am very concerned.  I have been through this before when I had a DS in 2002.  I was very calm for it, but this time I think I might be pushing my luck.  I am having a different type of surgery than usual with much higher risk factor.  But, my biggest fear is adjusting to the new eating restrictions post-op.  Again, maybe because I've been through it before.

Anyway.....good luck to all of us!  I hope for a smooth surgery and good drugs for everybody!

Well, good luck to you.  I'm a new member on here as well and my surgery date is 4/20 (my birthday).  I am also nervous too.  I'll check back in a few weeks, maybe we can compare notes!  What type of surgery are you doing?  I'm doing the RnY... ok, again, good luck and I'll say a prayer for you.

Sincerely,

8 days out and feeling GREAT!  I really didn't have a lot of pain my biggest hurdle has just
been feeling absolutely exhausted but I am glad to report that today it is better!

Good luck to all whose surgeries are coming up!
