Topic: RE: tomorrow is MY day!! :o)
Shelly,
Best wishes for a quick recovery. Remember to walk as much as possible to rid yourself of the gas they put in your abdominal cavity during surgery. Move around and blow into the incentive spirometer as much as possible to prevent pneumonia. My prayers are with you. Let us know how you do.

Topic: RE: Liquid Diet Struggles Anyone?
I'm starting the liver shrinking diet on Monday as well. I will be having a shake for breakfast and lunch, sensible dinner consisting of chicken breast and vegetable. I was told to limit to 1000 cal. per day. Obviously this is important...but it sucks big time. I'm having coffee with fat free milk...I think that will be ok. Let me know how things go. I might need some support for the next few weeks. Feel free to shout out. Good luck and keep positive.

Hello!
Has anyone here in Maine heard of a new procedure called stomaphyx? Are their any surgeons or anesthesiologists in Maine performing this procedure? Would be interested to hear from anyone.:
Thanks,

Topic: RE: RNY April 1st... no full sensation
Hi, I read your post. I had my RNY on March 17th and what you describe is my biggest complaint. I never feel full (satisfied) I either feel empty and hollow or nauseated. I am on pureed foods. The baby foods seem to be the best so far. I keep telling myself it's gonna take time for my new stomach to acclimate.
Good luck!

Topic: RE: Dose anyone have Great West Insurance?
Yes I have Great West. I had to do a six month supervised diet plan. After all the tests and diet my surgeon's office sent in the package. They first denied it saying I didn't have a six month diet (which I did) that I never was on prescribed diet pills ( which my pc doctor would never approve of) and that I didn't do well on my physch. eval. (which on my first visit she had concerns about my binging. So I went back after 4 months telling her I had addressed those issues and she then said I would be a good canidate.) So my surgeon called the insurance co doctor and they had a peer to peer conversation. I guess the insurance doctor was embarrassed about his orignial decision and I was approved within the week!
My surgeons office was very helpful and really took care of it all.
My surgery is Monday, April 7th!!
