Topic: Passageway too narrow?
I had surgery 3/7/2008. I am currently experiencing a sensation like things are getting stuck. So I told my surgeon and they did another egd and had to open my passageways a little because they were a little too narrow. I feel better and the liquids are going down but now it feels like they are getting stuck as it reaches my stomach maybe. It causes me to pass a lot of saliva, and its like mucous saliva, the type u get when u are about to vomit. Im frustrated because i should be able to eat soft foods and take in 48oz of liquids but I cant because of this. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what may be going on?

Margo,
Today was day 1 on the diet. Slim fast choc. shake was real good and filling, too! It now comes in lactose free and gluten free. I have used slim fast in the past and have referred to it as "fart fast"...lol. Anyway the day was a good one. I have been using prayer to get me through the next couple of weeks and ...the rest will all fall into place.
Are you having RNY or lap? I guess I didn't check out your full profile.

Topic: RE: Liquid Diet Struggles Anyone?
I just got back from my last nutrition class before surgery on the 17th. I am on day 5 of 2wk liquid diet. They just told me that I can only have 2 protein drinks per day, and I have been having about 5 to keep the hunger at bay. SF jello seems to help, but I am really wishing my dr didnt require the 2wks of no food. I've been having the ISOTONIX, crystal light, and jello. And havent lost anything!! But I'm doing what my dr said to do, and hoping I can make it thru this!!
Topic: RE: Anyone else on the 25th?
I went back and forth on which procedure was right for me. I researched both and asked a lot of questions.
I defintely want the results of the bypass, but not the unknown. I don't want the dumping and/or the malabsorbtion.
I have had several people ask me what I will do if I don't get the results I hope from the band. Right now, I don't plan on getting anything else. The band is a tool to help me in changing my life.
I plan on following all the recommendations and let the band help me.

Jill, from all the blogs I've ready everyone has asked themselves that same question at some point. You'll get through this, and when the weight starts coming off, it will all be worth it. Hang in there!
