Topic: realize band on april 3/ so miserable help
I had my realize band on april 3. felt pretty good in the hospital. Went through horrible gas pains for the next 3 days. On day 3 I threw up, although it was just foamy saliva it hurt terribly and scared the mess out of me. I called my surgeon at home b/c I was so scared. Now at 6 days I still have the constant full feeling, even though I am starving. I am trying to get in the 100 oz of water/day my surgeon wants but I usually only get half. I am so nauseas everyday, light headed, and miserable. Is this normal? I'm scared my band might have slipped when I threw up, has anyone ever experienced a slippage, if so does it feel like this? thanks in advance for your help :-)

I'm glad your experience has been easy so far, however I was banded april 3 and it has been far from a piece of cake, this has been the worst healing experience, I know soon I will feel better but soon to be's need to realize they may not have it as easy as you, wish I had

I too had my surgery last week on april 3 and I am really going through a tough time. I find it impossible to drink even half the fluids I'm supposed too, I'm weak, starving but bloated, and very nauseas, I have not been able to sleep well either

I also had to go through the 6 months of seeing my doctor. I was told I could not talk to him about anything except weight loss. I just finished my 6 months, had my consult with Dr. Fedorak, gall bladder ultrasound, nutritionist, and had the psych eval. I am just waiting for the insurance to approve it. Good Luck!

It was a requirement for my first insurance. They wont back down from that. Im sorry. I also have never heard of anyone being able to reverse that decision by the insurance company. Most insurances have that in place now I do believe. Good Luck Rahsheeda

I'm not going to lie...I was having MAJOR buyer's remorse Saturday and Sunday, I even cried a few times I was so miserable. But I can tell you, today, on Wednesday I don't regret it. On Saturday and Sunday I just wanted to feel O.K. again, no nausea, no dizziness, no headache. I'm happy to say, that on those qualifications...I do feel normal again. Even the muscle soreness in my abodmen is almost completely gone. I was able to lie on my SIDE last night and read in bed. Turning over in bed doesn't hurt and burn as much. I am a little scared still, wondering if it will really "work", if I'll really lose weight and if I'll be able to comply with the new way of eating, but I'm trying to have FAITH that it will. This journey is a Leap of Faith if you ask me. I think I was a little (well actually A LOT) niave that this thing was an actual "surgery". I expected to bounce back immediately. I wish someone would have told me that it really does take about a week before you're back in action. Read through the message boards...there are so many people out there willing to share their stories. That helped me alot.
