Just try and stick to the supplements that MMPC gave you. They totally suck but hang in there. I even cried yesterday cause I was so hungry (I am having surgery on the 22nd with Dr. Foote) but I know that this has to happen to help shrink the liver and stomach.
Topic: RE: Need help with Food and Vitamins
Hi,
I can recommend a very good vitamin that has everything in it that you will need as a supplement after surgery! If you go to Walgreen's.com and search for Optisource vitamin's which are specifically for post-bariatric surgery patient's. My surgeon put's all her patient's on them 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM every day. They are orange flavored chewable's that taste pretty good. You cant find them in the store and you will need to order them online. I got my shipment quickly and have been doing great on them! It's so much easier to take this one pill rather than take a seperate iron,b12,and multi-vitamin. I hope this help's and good luck with everything!

Are you going on a clear liquid phase prior to surgery? I had to for 2wks prior and am down 14lbs. I lost nothing the first week, and now 14 in 5days. You can do it!! And if you get close or show an attempt, they prob will take that into consideration. I had lost gained and lost and gained over the 8 months I've been waiting for surgery, just like the rest of my life!!

Topic: RE: Weight gain before surgery!
I have the same surgery date. My surgeon put me on a three-week liquid diet that I started 6 days ago. I have lost 11 pounds already! I drink protein shakes and can have a few real food items daily, such as cream soup, SF pudding, SF yogurt, etc... I was definitely dreading the day I had to start the liquids, but it hasn't been that bad. Maybe you should call the surgeon or a dietician to talk. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Topic: had my lapband surgery on April 10th, 2008!
My surgery started at 7:10am and I was up walking around as soon as they brought me up to my room! Had to stay over night because my insurance said so. On Friday morning I started my liquids. 1 oz every 15 minutes. They gave me a cute lil timer. Got released at 5pm on Friday. It's Saturday and I'm still doing my 1 oz. every 15 minutes! I even ran to Cub and had my timer going and my water bottle! I'm feeling great and no pain meds for me! The incisions are a little sore, but not bad. I decided to do this so I'm not gonna whine! My husband goes in on April 21st for gastric bypass so we'll be doing this new lifestyle change together! I started the process on my birthday in October. November 7, 2007 is when the ball got rolling! I joined LA Weightloss to help get me started losing some pounds to get ready for surgery. Well, the day of my surgery I was down 55 pounds!! Now I'm ready to get the rest off with my new tool! I'm happy I got my Lapband!

You sound exactly like me!! I just had my surgery on april 4th, but the week before they told me I needed to loose 9 more lbs. I'd had 6 whole months but I guess I just didn't believe they meant it--but they did. So--here is what I did--I went on the Adtkins diet or low carb. That diet has always worked well and quickly for me, although it doesn't last and who can live without carbs forever? But--I was able to lose those last 9 lbs. before surgery and everyone was happy. (I did not tell the dietician how I lost it.) Hope this helps.
