Hi Linda and Margo
,We're all going to make it just fine. No one dies....no one gets hurt. A speedy, pain-controlled recovery will be on the agenda...thanks to percocet. I'm a R.N and know that after surgery the best way to avoid the complications of surgery are to walk around ASAP after surgery as often as possible. Ask your surgeon and the anesthesiologist for PCA which is patient controlled anesthesia, which is pain meds at the touch of a button. This prevents you from having an injection and you get immediate relief. More importantly, the more comfortable you are the more able you are to get out of bed, walk, and move around and help to get the bowels to function and expel that gas and prevent blood clots. I have had 2 C-Sections and the gas pains were worse that the labor pains. Move your legs as often as you remember. Deep breathly as often as possible, use the incentive spirometer, this helps to prevent pneumonia. Keep hydrated...Throw in alot of prayers for good measure and we'll be soon be on our way to a great new body to buy clothes for.
Keep smiling...and have some more Jello! lol

Hi Leslie,
You posted this on the April 2008 board... meaning that we either just had surgery or will have it later this month. You might try reposting to the main Forum.
Congratulations on your weight loss... and good luck in your search!

Try some gas x and walk, walk, walk Walking helps to eliminate the trapped gas . Perhaps something you're eating may be causing all the gas, but most likely from surgery.. During surgery they fill your abdominal cavity full of gas, so now you need to expel it. If this doesn't help call your doc.

I had gastric on 4/10 and I am feeling almost "normal" but some people are different. Have you asked your Dr. if you can take something for the gas?
