Hi Kathy, my surgery is the 30th so I start preop diet tomorrow. I'm very nervous about it cuz I'm afraid I'm going to be hungry. I KNOW I am a carb addict. Let me know if you find some things that help. Let's support each other with surgery dates so close.

hey guys, just seeing several posts about upcoming dates like the 28th and 29th and wanted to join in with my own excitement! It'll be nice to have some friends beginning the journey around the same time as me ! We'll probably even be in the hospital at the same time..we can compare notes! Isn't this exciting??? cheers! :beer: and no more alcohol for a year!

I go in on the 28th too! WOOO HOOOOO! I feel like I am totally obsessed with this thing. It's all I want to talk about..I'm probably driving my friends and family nuts.... They are excited for me, and I'm excited to finally do something for me. Can you imagine all the things we will be able to do in a year? I'm ready to FLY!

That's my day too....I am with ya on the excited part...I'm about to come out of my skin. I am on cloud nine. Can't wait.....the time is flying believe it or not. I've been so busy getting my house cleaned, getting things in order so that I don't have to worry about anything but healing. This next week I have 2 appointments...Tuesday is a half day appointment for a "pre-op"...I meet the anesthesiologist, get all testing done, have a class with other pre-op patients, etc. Then on Thursday I am having an endoscope and then on Monday~~~~~~~~~~~~~SURGERY!!!!!!!!! Keep me posted on your progress. I will keep you in my prayers.

It DOES go by quickly. I cannot believe my surgery was a week ago. I am very excited for you. Good luck on your journey and please keep us posted!

Wooo hooo! I cannot imagine fighting to have the surgery approved for three years. You must feel amazing right now. Congratulations.
Can I ask why your insurance kept denying you???
I am very blessed that my process was very, very quick. Though I thought about WLS for goodness knows how long, I didn't look into it with any real focus until February of this year. I went to my first RNY information meeting on February 14, had my first appointment with the surgeon on March 5, and had my surgery on April 14. I know that I am very, very lucky.
Here's saying bravo to our journey!
