Lisa you probably hit your platue. I too had my surgery on the 15th. I was down 30lbs but gaind back 2 since friday when I started my stage 4 diet. The purreed part of your diet was so you can heal and to get used to eating smaller portions. Not to torture you. To be honest after 4 weeks of eating purreed tuna and chicken I was a little bored with it. No one said this was easy, and the "diet" was ment for us to loose weight and to keep it off. I was able to tollerate crackers that was my chewing. Do you take your protien shakes between meals? that should fill you right up. Your nutritionist and doctor should have given you a sample meal plans to follow so you maintain the weight loss and keep up the nutrition you need. I am shocked you can eat a cup of food. I vomit if I have more than 1/2 cup total. Your meals should take no longer than 30 min. And no less than 20. You also must not skip your meals. 3 a day. And no liquids within 30 mins before or after. I actuilly do not feel hunger and have to keep on a scedual to eat. I recomend the book"weight Loss for Dummies" it has lots of info. I wish you luck and for you to make an appt with your nutritionist or durring your 1 month check up talk to your doc about your diet. Good luck.

Topic: Hot food tip for pureed/blenderized stage!
Hi all, I had an open RNY on 4/29. After my 10 day post op visit yesterday, I was advanced to pureed foods. I had read on one of these boards a suggestion from A Happy Soul to puree a Lean Cuisine baked chicken florentine...OMG. It's awesome. I have a mini food processor that I used to make my kids baby food in...and it makes short work of whipping it up. It is tasty and delicious...and for 200 calories and 18 g of protein, it will get you out of the chocolate/vanilla/sf popsicle/soup blues in a hurry. Thanks to A Happy Soul for posting this!

Hi I had my rny on 4/15 and at first it seemed like I would be losing about a pound a day but over the last week plus I haven't lost much of anything. So I am down about 20lbs total and a little concerned that I am not losing more. I might be eating too much or not getting enough water/protien. I don't know what the deal is but I am glad some others are having this experience also. Hopefully we can figure it out together. I don't remember what my bmi was but i was 257 day of surgery and 237 now. I am 5'1". Lisa

Hi I too had surgery on the 15th. I agree with your wife. I could not do the pureed diet. It made me gag to even think about it. So I eat things like lentil soup which I tolerate fine. I also have not had much luck getting a full feeling. I just stop myself at about 1 cup of food and then I don't have pain. I do feel hungary alot of the time. It is not much fun right now. I have lost about 20 lbs but for some reason I haven't lost anymore. I don't know why but it is really worrying me. I keep thinking that I am eating too much or the surgery didn't work. Lisa

Topic: RE: CONCERNED ABOUT STALL
Hi Kimmy, I too am experiencing a stall. I had surgery on April 15 and have lost about 20 pounds but it seems like I haven't lost anything in more than a week now. I don't know if I am eating too much or too little. I know I don't get all the water in. Maybe not enough protien? I am really worried about it too. Lisa

I had RNY on 4/22. I have not had any real problems. I am almost 3 weeks out and I, too, was wondering about only losing about 15 pounds. Maybe it is normal if we are both in the same boat. I am hoping to speed up a little. I go back to school (just in time for the last week and a half), maybe I will be happier with the speed when I am back to work and less focused on it. Trina

Welcome! I hope you find the site as wonderful as I do. The technical part is not very user friendly (you create your signature on the "forums" page, NOT in your profile as common sense would dictate, etc.). But you'll eventually figure it all out. Good Luck!
