Erin
Hang in there -- I had my surgery 4/23 and my second week I was stuck --- but 5 days later I stepped on the scale and was pleasantly suprised to see I lost 7 pounds. Think about it... hardly eating anything and doing Exercises daily --- sooner or later it will come off! Hang in there it will come!

Kim - I had my rny 4/23. I lost 21 pounds prior to surgery and have lost 27 pounds since my surgery. I started aerobics 5/11 and have been faithful -- only missing 1 day so far. I have been very fortunate in that I haven't had any problems yet. My energy levels are getting back to normal. getting 100g of protein in --- I really like the strawberry unjury shake mixed with crystal light lemonade. I am still on full liquid diet. Living off of 5 protein shakes a day and usually a small Wendy's chili (half for lunch and other half for supper). everyone keep up good work and we will all meet our goals!!

Hi Gang, my surgery was April 30th. The day of surgery I weighed 297 and today I am 269 that is a total of 28 lbs. I am so thrilled and today I started back to work. I could have taken a few more weeks but felt ready. I am a bit tired but only another 1.5 hours and the day is over I can go home and take a nap.
Topic: RE: Feeling very weak
I had lap RNY on the 21st and also had a hiatal hernia repaired during surgery. I was extremely weak up until about a week ago. Now I can see that I am feeling a little bit better each and every day. Make sure you are taking your vitamins (including a B12 supplement) and continue trying to get all your protein and water in - I'm sure you'll be feeeling better in a few days!
Topic: A weight stall at 2.5 weeks ?????
I had my VSG 4/29/208. I have lost about 16 lbs I feel like I lost more, hopefully my scale is broke. LOL. I too think I am losing weight to slow.
I weighed 362 and the scale now says 346. I have a long way to go and I thought being so heavy that I would have lost 25lbs or more the first two weeks.
I thought the weight would be falling of me daily. Wonder what I am dong wrong. I go back to the Dr on the 30th. I hope I have lost at least 25 by then.
I feel like I will never be able to eat anything more solid then cottage cheese. I tried and I get this aweful feeling like a rock in my sleeve. Feels terrible. Hopefully that will change in few weeks. l love Cambell's creamy potato soup but after one can my Dietician screamed at me. So I never ate it again but it took me 3 days to eat the can and boy did I enjoy it. LOL
Any advice or recipes would be greatly appreciated.

Are you getting in at least 1/2 your fluid and protien per day? Are you taking an iorn chewable, 2 vitamins and your calcium with vitamin D daily? Maybe you are dehydrated or anemic. OJ is a No no. What pain meds ar you on? Maye it isn't the right one for you and making you weak.

Topic: Hi everyone............
Hi everyone.......... My name is Karen and I live in New Jersey. I am
happily married and have 3 daughters. I am 51 and have been about 60 lbs
overweight FOREVER. I did diet successfully - many times and always gained
back plus some. I got my lapband on April 16th and had really bad gas
pains - nothing else. I did liquids and mushies for 3 weeks and got a fill
last Tuesday. It did not hurt at all ( I am a BIG baby)....At that time I
was down 12 lbs. I got 3cc's and drank my water in the waiting room. I
thought I was gonna die ~ the water just sat in my throat. The dr. then
removed 1cc. and I went back to my water. Again, the pressure was intense
and I began to cry. He removed 1/2 cc and you could hear the water go down
(like rotor rooter)!! I drove home and kept salivating and my eyes kept
tearing. I was all about to go for a little more unfill and my friend
(banded 1 yr. ago) called me and said it to wait it out for a day and I did.
The next day I was great - RESTRICTION FINALLY! Well, now it is 5 days
later and I honestly feel like I am barely restricted!! I have eaten the
things allowed (and some NOT) and have had NO "stuck" feeling at all. I had
a small piece of bread tonight with no problem. Yes, I do get full faster,
but compared to what I have read - either I am super lucky with not much gag
reflex OR I have very little restriction. Not sure at all. My next dr.
appt is in 3 weeks and I dont even own a scale. I wish I had kept that last
cc. though~ nice to meet you all.
Topic: Feeling very weak
I had lap RNY April 24, 2008. I had a Hiatal Hernia repaired during surgery and have had a hard time with post op pain and recovery. I still feel extremely weak. From reading the paperwork that my Dr. gave me, I drank exactly 4 ounces of O.J. just in case I was hypoglycemic. Anyway, I, almost immediately, felt better but not great. The "better" feeling was short lived. Anyone else have this problem? My follow up is a week away and I am having lab work this week, so hopefully that will show something.
