I agree with Laura M! I am bipolar also but I am on menopause so my period days are over. I think this is serious enough that you could send an urgent post!! You don't want to fool around with chemistry and hormone levels! Sorry Elisalu!

Topic: Lap band surgery 4/29/08- BMI 55, weight loss since 4/23 18 lbs. swimming very little so far!
Hi, I had lap band surgery in April with no complications. Now I am starting to eat solids and I am not feeling any fullness. Is this mean the lap band needs to be adjusted with a fill? Or has the band slipped? My doctor is out of the country now, so I can't call him about this. I tested this myself by making a large romain salad plate with slice turkey (4 OZ) and cucumbers cut into slices. I was able to eat all of it in the space of a half & hour!! I did not have any liquids with it, but as far as the bulk it seemed a lot of food. I also refrained from eating any bread or starches but I obviously don't want to add that! Help! has anyone else experienced this? From talking to other patients that had the surgery, even ones that have not had a fill yet, they claimed they could not pass a lot of food... What is wrong with me? Another question. How do I get the ticker into my messages? I know I would get them from the Ticker Factory but when I went there and chose the ticker, I was not able to transfer it to my OH. Thanks!!

Hi Andrea, I am so sorry you're going through this! I have had a hysterectomy, so I can't really offer any advice. But I think you might want to RE-POST this on the "main" message board tonight. There are lots of people out there who might be able to respond to your situation. Good luck, Laura

Topic: Please Help!!
I had gastric bypass surgery on 4-15-08. Everything went great and there were no complications. All my life I have had irregular periods, and last year I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. On Tuesday my period came on and all day Wednesday I was deathly ill. There was nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and I ached from head to toe. I felt as if I had the flu. The cramps were excruciating and I had a low grade temp of 99.5. I was in bed all day. I couldn't get any liquids or meds down, and I didn't even try to eat anything. I woke up this morning feeling a little better, but I am so weak and am experiencing a strange indescribable feeling in the pit of my stomach. Also, I am Bipolar and I think my meds may need adjusting. I have been "goin off" on everybody I know. This is so unlike me! I'm just about ready to check myself into the nearest psych ward. Is this what I have to look forward at every menstrual cycle? Will I suffer a mental breakdown because of the surgery? Someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Topic: RE: Very sensitive to sugar
I am glad to know I am not the only one. I have never been a sweets person but I really like milk so not being able to drink milk sucks. I lost about 20 pounds the two weeks prior to surgery and have lost about thirteen pounds since surgery. I am very frustrated because it has been about two weeks since I have seen a change in the scale. I can tell a difference in my clothes but I want to see the results on the scale.

I am curious to know how much weight you have lost from the day of surgery until now. I had my surgery 4/29 and I lost 17lbs the first two weeks and then nothing this third week. I want to flip out. I can't do applesauce either and I haven't had much sugar . Splenda never sat good with me even before surgery it always gave me the ****s. LOL. I haven't tried it since surgery though. Hahahahahahaha! I am lactose and I was before surgery as well but now it is much worse. I used to be able to handle small amounts of skim milk and fat free yogurt and now....pa....lease!I have to stay home by the toilet. Your body changes right away. I used to be a sweet freak and I had big trouble the first 9 days with sweet protein drinks and stuff. Sweet makes me gag. I wanted salt salt salt and it was the opposite after surgery. I came out of the OR wanting pizza and tuna with onions. TUNA WITH ONIONS???????? When have I ever liked that? NEVER!!!! Everything will come together and you will never be the same. You will be better. The new and improved! Jenna

Topic: RE: problem with oozing out of staples
Thanks for the reply, I had went to the drs. office to have the staples removed last wed. Dr. was not conserned about the oozing, yep said the same thing they wanted it to drain out, funny you said about having to turn your matress over. I have had the same problem, since I posted the first message, I had gone through another eruption as I put it. I am now down to a little seeping watery blood now again, hoping that this will be it and start to stop now. I got smart and put on an overnight pad over the spot so that works real well. also keeps it dryer. I will be happy when this stops because it is making my incision area sore because it stays moist all the time.. Takes the fun out of everything like trying to keep excercising and stuff up when it is sore like this... Dr. did tell me only will leak for a couple of more days.. well guess it was obviously a guess since it is still doing it week and half later...
