Topic: Three wow moments in two days
I took the kids to dairy queen yesterday and I fit in the booth. When we went there about 2 weeks pre-op my belly was resting on the table and now there is a couple inches of space in between. Then I took out a pair of jammie shorts that had gotten way too tight on me just to see if they fit yet, and they are baggie. I get on the scale this morning and I lost 3 pounds over the weekend. The stall is finally over....wooohoooo. Thanks for letting me babble. OH rocks lol. hugs and blessings,

Hi Kathy, I haven't had your problem... but I hope you feel better soon. Have you called your surgeon? Laura

Andrea, There are several folks here that are Bipolar and your meds need adjust for the first year. It is a fact that females store alot of hormones in our fat cells and during the first 6 months of rapid weight lose these hormones are dumped into your blood stream and mood swings and depresseion are common. Not all doctors explain this. Your periods may get heavy also as your weight is changing. Mine have. SOme days it is like I just bleed out than nothing. I notice that the farther out I got I only lost weight during my monthly time. You will need to talk to your doctor and let your family know that this is all part of it and you will get straightened out in time. Keep it in your head that this is what the issue is, it is not you. When you get angry or depressed remember in six months and and than a year you will be a much different Beautiful person!! Take a deep breath when the anger comes out and remember it's happening because your body is dumping fat along with all those extra hormones you don't need? Try taking walks when the anger builds up. Keep taking your vitamins and exercise. Vitamin defiecencies can lead to mental issues also. It helps with all around mental well being, promise. You will be fine!

Ok guys read my blog. Was very frustrated with a stall. Only down 21 pounds post op today. Started at 242 preop and at 221 today. But.... had to buy pants this weekend while out of town (due to big storm while on vacation) and was down from a size 24 to a 18!!! Could have fit a 16 in the waist but the thighs were tight (no surprise!). Decided the stall was me losing inches. Everyone commented on the difference in only 5 weeks! Would love to hear where you all started and where you are now.

Count me in on the stall listl Hit one last week at 4 1/2 weeks out and was really frustrated. Read my blog. But... came home from a trip (no access to a scale) and jumped on it as soon as I walked into the door and down 2 pounds since Thursday. Was stalled over a week but I "felt" the inches lost when I had to buy new pants this weekend and was down 3 sizez postop. I remember someone saying that a stall is your body adjusting inches. I am now a beleiver!

Hmmm...Thats interesting that your dr told you that you will lose a lb a day for 90 days.I guess each dr is different.I have spoken to many people who have had gastric bypass and the weight loss varies and yes you do have plateaus where you dont lose anything.I wish my doctor told me that I would lose a lb a day that would be wonderful.Good luck with surgery.
