Hey there! When did you have your surgery? Mine was on the 28th of April. I've vowed not to even let the hubby see me until he comes home for his visit. I want to knock his socks off! lol What unit is your hubby with? Mine's with the 101st ABN. How are you doing with the deployment? Kathy

I had my surgery on April 29th and I am down 22 pounds. But I also had a two week stall. In any case it's 22 pounds less than I was a month ago. Things are going good. Still a little sore in the tummy muscles but doing awesome. Back to walking at lunch pretty much everyday and have had no problems with food. Congrats on your 40+ pounds. I have lost 40 total, 22 since surgery and 18 on my own since January. One month down, many thinner and happier months to go. Hugs and blessings,

Today is one month out for me. I've lost 44 pounds, I feel great and have tons of energy. I'm off of all meds....I can't believe it. WOW. How is everyone else doing?

David, I think I agree with the others that your wife has to make the decision to live this life now...or not to and throw it all down the toilet. I do sympathize with her hatred of purees. They truly make me gag, but there is a reason for every directive the docs are giving us. What I might suggest is getting the things that tempt her OUT of the house until she gets a better handle on her new body. This will be tough for the rest of the family for a while, but I think it may be worth it. My hubby is in Afghanistan and has been for the duration of my recovery. I was wondering how YOU are handling the changes your wife is going through. I'm very interested as my experience is going to be a bit warped. He won't be home until next January for a visit. Best to you both.

My doc is cautious, too. He's very anti-hernia! lol My advice is to listen to your doctor, but make sure he knows you're feeling ready for more. Listen to me giving advice when I'm only walking... Good luck darlin'.

Darlin', I am NO doctor, but I've been trying to get my body adjusted to my psych meds after my RNY. I find myself a bit shorter tempered and at night I have a strange sensation similar to 'coming out of my skin'. I don't know what's causing that, but I know that the more I exercise the less my emotions are out of control. I truly hope you're able to find some relief. Maybe your body is ready for more of a challenge? I wish for you the VERY BEST. Kathy

Topic: RE: Post Op Nausea for 1 Mont
oh, believe me, he knows. My stay in the hospital was extended to five days to try to deal with the nausea and I know he got tired of receiving calls from the nurses asking for anti-emetics. I don't see him again until 17 June... I pray constantly for relief.

I am 5 weeks post-op and have struggled with nausea the whole time. Ask your doctor for a scopolamine patch to put behind your ear. It's what people take to not be nauseous on cruises. Without those patches, I couldn't keep anything down. My doctor says it can go away....but could it could take months! At least this is a short-term solution to get you through each day.

I too had my surgery on 04/15 and have lost about 22 since day of surgery. My clothes seem loser so I know I'm losing something, but the scale doesn't seem to move much( a pound or two). I was told that it will reach like a plateau and then will drop again.. Very impatient and waiting for that drop though... So i definetly feel your pain.
