Topic: RE: Happy 6 Month Surgiversary!
Hi Everyone!
Just learned about this board from a posting Kim left on another one.  April 16th was my big day.  Was 287 on day of surgery and 297 day of consult.  I stay with the prescribed suppliments, walk  two miles 5 days a week with our golden retreiver puppy (Isabella) and try for 62 oz of H20 daily.  I try for 80g of protein daily with two South Beach protein bars included.   Off meds for insulin resistance and hypertension.  Lipids are now normal.  I'm hoping that some day I'll be able to get rid of the C-pap.  I'm now losing at the rate of about 2 lbs/ week.  It's great to fit into clothes in the closet I never thought I fit into again.  Best wishes to all of you and thanks Kim for the link to this board.
Blessings,
Ron

Hi Kim, thanks for the info about Nectar breaking your stall.  I am going to try it as I have been in one and it makes me CRAZY!!!  I'm 5 1/2 months out and have lost 89.5#  I give lots of credit for that 1/2 #, also.  Have not vomited and only 2 epsiodes of dumping and those were early on.  Cannot wait for the hair loss to slow down and stop.  But this was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made.  Feel great, becoming the person physically that more matches my personality.  Does that makes sense.  I'm the girl that would dance down the street but the fat girl was too inhibited.  Exercise has basically replaced down time when I would hang out in my kitchen eating.  Love being a gym rat.  My muscle mass is changing but it will not make up for the damage I've done to my skin.  PS is in my future.
Thank you to all on OH for the constant support and encouragement.

October 21st is my six month surgiversary.  Here are my stats:

Highest weight: 324 pounds
Pre-Op weight:  284 pounds
Current weight: 203 pounds
Total loss since surgery: 81 pounds
Total loss overall:  121 pounds

I'm off all blood pressure medicine
No more acid reflux
No more sleep apnea or snoring
I've gone from a size 30 to a size 14/16
My cholesteral has dropped from 250 to 182
My triglyceride level dropped from 350 to 92

I'm healthy and happy.  I would like to lose at least 30 more pounds, but it sure is slowing down.  I feel like I am on my own now, but I know that can't be true!

Congrats everyone on how well you are doing!

Milk 2% or higher. I drink soy milk and light cheese and once in a while can handle skim or 1% milk. I also had a few bites of carrot cake with frosting for a special occasion and dumped on that.

Today is my 6 month surgerversary!!!  I am down a total of 108#.  I am so glad I finally had this surgery done!!  I don't feel like a freak any more when I go out in public.  I can fit comfortably into a booth at a restaurant.  I can wear a size 22 pant now, down from a 34/36.  I am wearing a 2x or 3x shirt, down from a 4x or 5x.  I can exercise better.  Over all I feel so much better.  My husband has been so good to me; always supportive and always telling me how good I am looking.  I did think I would be down a little more by now, but when else could I have lost this much weight, and I know it is going to stay off!!!

My RNY was April 21, 2008.  My high weight was 265, I am 5'5".  I am currently 175.  This has been the most amazing journey.  I was hoping I would be successful but I could never have imagined I would have done this good.  I do workout 4 times a week and I am very careful with what I eat.

I hope everyone is doing well

Look forward to meeting everyone and hearing all of your interesting stories.

Have a great night

Karen

I'm an April 14th baby too!!  I'm down 89lbs as of this morning, and feeling AWESOME!!  I've been so so with my exercising, but i'm overall TONS more active!  I'm good about my water, great about my protein, and religious about my vitamins.  All my labs were great at my appointment yesterday.  I have embraced my new life and new anatomy and am SO grateful to God for allowing me to beat obesity with my RNY.  Good luck to all of you April babies, and God Bless!!! (group hug!)
