Hit another goal this AM and I am not even trying!  I will be 9 months our tomorrow. Started at 242 and 5'4" tall.  My original goal was 150, then I changed it to 145, then 140. Weighed in at 139.5 this morning.  Wanted to scream from the rafters that I love my RNY.  I dont exercise. I really am not even trying.  Started in a size 22 and am down to a size 4. Even took a picture of the scale with the digital camera. I am thinking of posting it on my bathroom mirror for motivation to never go over 145 again. Thought I was at maintenance since I was a 142 for weeks!!  Maybe 135 is possible but not sure I want to go that far.  I am drinking 2-3 protein drinks a day plus 3 meals. Averaging about 100 grams a day of protein. I honestly think that was the trick for me. Started out as a really slow loser. Learned about insulin resistance at my 4 month stall. Upped the protein to 100 grams a day and bam!  The weight literally started falling off!  Feeling absolutely great.  Everyone is telling me how great I look (not used to that as I still see myself as the big girl!) I may not want to lose anymore but Dr. Suh told me he thought that I would get down to 135 and I thought he was crazy.  Guess he knows better than I do.  I go for my 9 month labs this morning.  I get my labs drawn every two months and they are all great!   I am having no issues and zero vomiting in 9 months!!! Whooo Hoooo!!!  Would love to read others reports. Give us a shout out here!

Preop 242  Height 5'4"  Current: 145 Want to get back to 135. ZERO Complications! ZERO Vomiting  (Chew, chew, chew)! ZERO Regrets!

I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs. I had surgery on April 16th of 2008. At that time I was 255 lbs and a size 24. Today, my size 8 DKNY jeans are a little loose!
Actually, I am no longer concerned about my weight and hardly step on the scale at all. I just don't care about losing weight anymore. I just eat right, take my supplements and exercise when I find the time. Things are going well.
I LOVE my RNY! I need a T-shirt that says that.

I'm 5'10 and am now 169. I changed my goal originally from 180-185 to 170-175 but now I think I may do 165-170. I beleive that I'm in maintenance right now my NUT wanetd me at 174 before my year was up and so I've met her goal as well. I'm going in next week t ensure I am on target as far as my caloric intake to maintain. I have no issues with anything and in the next few months Im going to start really working on toning but right now I jsut want to enjoy NOT having to worry about my weight for at least a couple of months!

I had my RNY on April 1, 2008 (but I am no fool...haha)...it has been a godsend. Plain and simple, the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I started at 221 lbs (I'm 5'4")....and as of today weight 146.  I'm thrilled.

I have not had any major complications. My struggle, if I were to say one, would be getting the protein I need and taking my vitamins...I lack greatly in the discipline for these two crucial additives I need to maintain the weight loss and nurtrition.  My other downfall is I don't excercise. I have never been one to excercise, so the whole concept is so foreign to me?  But, this too I am working on.

I have 2 sisters (out of a total of 7 girls in our family) that have also had this surgery and they share my views and opinions about this tool. They too have done fantastic.

I have my 9 mo check up in one week....looking forward to it!

I had my surgery 9 months ago today.  I started at 217 and a size 18...  I am now 119 and a size 2.   I still can no believe it!  I had my check up yesterday and everything checked out good.  He actually said that I was 10 pounds under weight, I almost feel out in the floor,LOL.  This has been the best decision I have ever made for myself.  Thanksto everyone for the continued support of this site.

Surgery was April 1, I was 272 the day of surgery and am now hovering around 160. I'm about 6'0 tall, and this weight looks and feels pretty thin to me. I'm in a size 4-6. Things are good.
The weight pretty much all dropped off at once. I never hit a real stall, never felt frustrated, it all came off in a straight-down line until the middle of December, which is when I got to where I am now.

I don't work out quite as much as I used to, but that's only because it is winter & I'm bored and slightly unmotivated. I've gone from 6 days a week at the gym to about 3-4. Still feel OK about that, I'm going to start training for my spring races very soon anyway.

Nutrition is good, I still get around 75-80 grams of protein a day, try to stay faithful to my vitamins- am starting to wrestle with transfer addiction though. So I go to support groups and see a therapist & hopefully will wrestle those demons to the ground.

That's about all. Now I get to "maintain" which is a while new experience for me.
"Another day.  Another chance to feel healthy."

I had RNY April 29th.I started out at 255 size 22-24 .I am happy to say i now weigh at 154 ,so thats 100 lbs lost.I am wearing a size 10. I am 5'7 tall. The hardest thing for me is remembering to take all the vitamins,I hate the protein shakes and stopped drinking them.I use the atkins protein bars instead.I try to get as much protein in as i  can.I don't weigh or measure though. If i don't lose another lb .I would still be happy where I am at .I never wanted to be a size 2,only to become more healthier and I feel like I am there. We are working on TTC,since I have a underactive thyroid and pcos its more difficult so were not waiting until the 2 year mark.If I didn't have pcos and O'd I would .I turned 34 last saturday.I don't have the advantage that most of you have.I don't see my bariatric surgeon or a nutrionist anymore. After my 6 week checkup after surgery we moved from Ky back to Ar.So I am winging it on my own.My 6 month bloodwork all came back within normal range so i feel ok.I did try to get a new dr here but since i already had the surgery they won't take me,everyone here at ok said i should be ok with a PCP.So thats what i am gonna do.I love my RNY it has made me healthier and much happier. Now if i can get a little bean ,would totally be worth it.
