Hi everyone,

It's been 5 months since surgery, so I was wondering how everyone is doing.

I am now down 95.5 lbs since surgery, down to a size 14/16 or L on top and 22 on bottom (about to head into 20's). I am feeling pretty terrific most of the time, and haven't had any problems with food (thank you God). I am trying to excercise at LEAST 3 times a week and trying to make sure to get in enough water and all my vitamins. Does anyone else struggle with that part?

I went to Great America this past weekend and rode EVERY single rollercoaster and had a BLAST doing it. How is everyone else doing at their 5 months? Some of you may be going into your 6th month now, so I'm excited to hear about how we all are!!!

Hi!

I am going into my 6th month and I too feel GREAT!

I have lost a total of 112 pounds and I am in the 14/16 top and a 16/18 on the bottom.  I feel good most of the time also but I just had to go get .6 cc taken out becasue for whatever reason I wasn't able to keep liquids down.  I am hoping it is not a slip, but my surgeon feels that i must of had something stuck in there so now I should be good.  I am going to take it easy with mostly liquids for a while and take it easy.

I would have to say it is the little things that make me the most happy with my weight loss.  Things like crossing my legs, taking a bath without my butt touching the sides of the tub! LOL Riding rides with my three boys at the local fairs was awesome, last year I couldn't fit.  Running up stairs without being ready to die.  This has been such a life change and I wish I did it 5 years ago!

I haven't excersised much yet but I have to start.  Does anyone have any real big skin issues?  My tummy is well hangy to say the least and the biggest issue with me is my arms.  My arms are definatly bat wings, does anyone have any good excersises or had any luck with toning this area or am I just doomed? =)

74 lbs gone as of today. Only my father and husband has seen me this "light".

I feel fantastic. 1x/2x tops, size 22/24 bottoms, depending on the amount of stretch in the fabric.

I slide into ANY booth in a restaurant without having to ask for a table.

I turn all the way around when backing out of a parking space...no need for the mirror any longer.

My laces tie in the center of the shoe, rather than in the inner corner.

I stand almost all day at work, and I don't crave a seat to take a load off my feet and knees.

I LOVE taking home half my food, stretching it out another day.

Co workers are asking me how much more I CAN lose. I am not even <200 yet!

RNY on 04/30/08 with
63 pounds gone so far.  Feeling pretty good.  I went bike riding today that was great!

I've been checking out Chefmd.com and cooking some healthy recipes.  It's so nice to be able to eat about half my food then put the rest up for lunch the next day.  Or go out to eat like Wendy's and eat a bowl of chili with cheese and onions and be stuffed before finishing it.

I'm wearing size XL shirts and size 16/18 pants (The Teens "Whoo Hoo")

I still struggle with the protein and water.  I've been reading some on this.  I've got to get better!  The best I understand if we don't get enough protein our bodies will pull from our bones, muscle and our heart.  And it is important to get plenty of water to flush unused protein through our kidneys.  (People with Kidney disorders protein is not good for them).  I may be way off base.

When I shower my hair is coming out.  That is not cool but my hair ldoesn't ook or feel really thin.  Hope this doesn't worsen.

I think the coolest thing is my breast size was 44 DD and now 36 DD.  Before mostly because of the boobs and no neck when eating I would always drop something on my shirt.  Now I can eat without spilling on my shirt.  I don't have to reach so far to my plate.

Good luck everyone on our journey to a new smaller person.

Hi,
For me  91lbs since surgery and 180lbs since I started diet in June of 07, I have come from a size 7X-8X top down to a 3X, a 5-6X pants down to a 2X, I am really beginning to love the newer emerging me. I now realize all the things I really could not do before. My life is so much improving I should have started this much much sooner!!! I have so much more energy, I try to exercise one to two times a day to help with the skin, that I am beginning to have too much of but I am helping with that with clothing choices... all I have to say to us is keep up the good work and congratulations to all of us!!!!!

Hi April and everyone, I am down 81 lbs.  I have gone from a size 26 to a 16 even some 14's.  AMAZING!  I am getting a tiny bit worried as I feel lately I can eat a bit more and feel for hungry.  I am going to faithfully record all food on thedailyplate.com this week to make sure I am totally on track and make necessary changes.  I love my RNY, I never, ever want to go back.  Fat sucks and Thinner just feels so damn GREAT!  Gina  : )

Hi, Feeling great here in NJ!!!  I had my RNY on 4/30/08 and I'm down 89 lbs.  Exercise is a daily way of life for me now.  I walk 3 miles at least 5 times/week, take yoga twice a week, Zumba class once a week and circuit training 3 - 4 times/week.  If I still have some pent up energy, I hop on the treadmill at the Y.  Moving is all I know these days.

In a big stall right now and really want to shake up that darn scale.  Saw the surgeon last week and he estimates that in the next 12 months I will lose another 30 lbs.  After I stabilize at that weight for a year, I will go for a PS consult.  Wearing a 12 on top and almost a 12 on the bottom.  Love to go shopping in my closet.

I know water/hydration is a tough point for me but I'm trying.  Protein is easier.  My hair is falling out and I've already cut it shorter, very discouraging but I knew to expect this.  Taking Biotin, whether it works or not.

Love roller coasters, too!
